...has GOT to be the Bad Frog...right? I've tried about 2 dozen or so, and the BF is the only one that I don't mind giving up on half way. I heard the Sportsman's Reserves are bad...are those Takomas worse than the BF's?

why why why after 1 bad frog would you try 23 more???

The worst I have had are the Lone Wolf - have not had a bad frog
have a 5 pack of the Sportsmen Reserve that I have not tried yet.

The Tacoma is a definate yard smoke. Much more tolerable than the sportsman and the lone wolf.

I have 80 Takoma's in the coolador. I think they are a decent smoke for 25 cents. smokes I found worse than Takoma:

Fonseca
Wall street
Macanudo

I cut the Takoma even though it has a v-cut. I find it opens the draw and doesn't get harsh.

You see, there's the taste thing. I like the Sportsman's Reserve for a yard cigar. The taste grows on you as you smoke it. The Fonseca (mit the Zedar) isn't too bad, either. Everyone has a different set of tastes. IMHO

I'm not familiar with the recent incarnation of Sportsman's Reserve, but early production by Nick Perdomo was an excellent cigar. I still have some of the earliest production. I think Jonathan Drew was just getting started when these were made. They certainly weren't pretty, but they were more than a yard 'gar.

I believe you meant to say, reincarnation ... but the 'Sportsman's Reserve' is no long in production, and the new line is called 'Outdoorsman's Reserve' ... and is made by Drew Estates alone, exclusively for CI ...

I'm not sure what you mean by, "early production by Nick Perdomo" ... as the 'Sportsman's Reserve' were always a joint effort between Nick and Drew. Sometimes they were advertised by Nick, other times as by Drew ... but they were one in the same.

And Drew had been around a long time before the two collaborated on the 'Sportsman's Reserve' line of cigars. The 1997 RTDA Show in Orlando began the formal birth of Drew Estate.”

As I often note in my various reviews, we each have different taste ... some of the cigars name above are not so bad, IMO ... some are worse than they're being described ... but the all time, worst cigar on CBid has absolutely, positively gotta be "Legion" ... these babies had the flavor profile and the draw you'd expect from a capped 7" length of 3/4" galvanized pipe ...

Here's an excerpt from a post I did last year on them, followed by two others that appeared on the board earlier in the year ... as you can readily see, there are 3 of us who agree ... the Legion is one serious dog rocket ...

'nuf said ... Legion has been nominated and seconded as the Worst CBid Cigar Ever

The all-time worst cigar I've had from this esteemed company was the Evelio--it was not bad in the sense of having no taste, it was plain bad to the core with an overpowering ammonia taste...completely unsmokeable. This despite many years of aging, judging by the very yellow cello. To try and be fair, I did try a second one a few months later and after three puffs decided it was no different from the first. The rest went in the trash--they were so bad I wouldn't feel right giving them away even to a novice. Thankfully, such experiences have been very far and few between.

I find this interesting, but I think the worst I have had was when they did the closeout on the Hamilton House Coronas. They were horrible and had a cheap bordello perfume/bathroom spray smell. Not even a yard smoke.

It was my understanding that Nick Sr. produced these cigars while Jr. was still directing air traffic. Jon and Marvin got involved in the marketing, but really weren't into production. I think Jon may still have been in law school.

The Cbid promo copy for Outdoorsman Reserve says this is a joint project of Drew Estate and Perdomo. Is this incorrect? Is Slim's post, above, correct that these are solely made by Drew Estate for CI/Cbid? If the Perdomos aren't involved in the manufacture, it would probably best for the ad copy to reflect that information. JMHO

That description is the exact same one they used for the 'Sportsmand Reserve' ... I think someone just went in and changed the name ... but nothing else.

The description for the 'Outdoorsman's Reserve' is more correct over at Cigars International, except it is not entirely correct either.

They state:

The worst I have ever had from Cbid was a pack of those Chantillys I bought as a joke for someone. To this day I can't believe that I actually lit it and tried to smoke it.

The worst non-aromatic cigar that I tried was a five pack of the Rastafaris. NASTY!!!

Smoked 2 and tried to give the other 3 away at work. I often leave a few cigars that I'm tired of on the counter at work and they are usually gone in a couple of hours. The Rastafaris stayed for 3 days. LOL!
