Did any of you see this? I watched it on Fox. I believe it was on a few stations. Whats your take?

I think McClintock did the best for my preferences. But, I also think Arnold did well. I dont think McClintock can win, I may vote for Arnold.

I will vote for the most viable, Republican candidate. Spending is WAY FREAKIN' out of control in this once-great state and Davis is signing bills that he, last year thought were way to liberal/wacko in a desperate attempt to re-claim some of his left constituency.

Anyone who thinks the Drivers licence for "anyone" idea is a good one needs to dig real deap with a crow-bar and pry their head out of their sorry, sorry ASS!!!

stupid debate. it is like an open book test if you have all the questions in advance. personally i like arriana, but she can't win and i don't know how to spell her name.

arnold, give me a break, he is an actor and with the correct script he could have been on any side.

as far as licenses, i am still diggin with my crowbar and my ass hurts.

Living in Texas it does not matter to me, but I did watch the debate.

McClintock and Arnold did the best job.
Airheadanna showed how uninformed she is.
Bustamove was condesending to Arianna, but new what he was talking about.
The Green Party candidate was out of touch with reality.
As for the others... huh?

If I was voting, I would vote for Arnold. Not Gary Coleman who played Arnold.

Although the porn star would be fun to watch as Govenor, but I say that because I don't live in Cali.

Sorry Rick. I was a bit pickled and bitter when I wrote that, although my general feelings remain. If you need help with the crowbar, let me know.

I don't think Arnold is any great debator. He has done what any smart, political front runner has done and stayed away from debates. His strengths will come from the people he chooses to surround himself with. If Dubya didn't have Chaney and Powell...

I would even take Airheadanna over Davis and Butthead at this point. Did you see the Daily Show the other night? Jon Stewart showed a clip of Davis making a typically, snide statement. After which Jon replied, "He's right.......... but he's a ******." And Jon's pretty liberal, himself.

i work with profit sharing so i would not insure anyone that is not a "good driver" definined as 3 years driving experience in the us with no bi accident, and no more then one cit or one pd accident only.

the calif asg risk plan will be where all these people go. they will pay a down payment and go cancelled on the first payment with no check from the dmv to see if they are still driving with insurance.

i am starting to enjoy the crow bar, i'll try the band saw next followed by my radial arm saw.

Yes I watched it. And I like some of the others here do not live in Cali. and I do not envey what you are all are about to have to do. I though That Arnold was poor at debating , I could understand what direction he wants to go with the state but did not feel that he was able to put that out to the people well enough. As far as Lady "A" MO is that she just wanted to try to beat up on Arnold and soap box for other things other than what the debate was for. And the Current LT. Gov. again IMHO is nothing more than a Politian who is looking at his pocket and not really looking out for the Great State of Cali. The other to Well they got to voice their thoughts , enough said about them. I really feel sorry for the people of Cali. and all the MAJOR Issues that you have to face and work out in some ways your state is in much worse shape than the country and you really need someone who isn't afraid to stand up and say "this is a hard thing to do but if wwe want to make it we have to do it."Then Roll up their sleves and DO IT. Sure things will be hard for awhile but thats the way it is when you get taken down the wrong road to begin with it's a fight to get squared away again and everyone is going to hurt and "EVERY ONE" has to hurt Not just some of the people. It will take all of you to work together to get your state back on its feet. I whish you all the Best of luck. You Have a wonderful state and I do Love to visit when ever I get a chance.. Good Luck from South Dakota.. TinMan

Well said TimMan!! I hope the recall fails, mainly because it's completely ludicrous and an obvious GOP power play just like the redistricting in Texas, and secondly because there are no good candidates.

If Arnold gets elected I'm going to $hit my pants, even though I agree with a lot of his "stances"(until they change again), he is so under qualified it's disgusting. He is playing the politician, and denouncing politicians at the same time...

I hate to get political, but one of the greatest Governors the state of California ever had was also an actor, can anyone guess who? He came in an underdog, the State of California was in a real bad recesion jobs were lost and moral was down. In 60 days this "actor" came in and changed the State of California. Yep the one and only Ronald Regan. I will not judge people on the fact that they are actors, lets face it, this state was one of the best states (surplus wise)in America, billions in surplus. Then this clown came in and scuandered(sp.) the money like a complete idiot. I am still amazed he was voted for a second term. I don't like Bustamantes, or that dumb broad huffington. McClintok is pretty solid but I don't belive he's got a shot, Arnold....... we are in deep trouble in California. One must really take a chance, after all how bad can Arnold be, I don't belive any worst than Davis!!!!!

Arnold needs to drop out and let the only candidate with a real plan and the experience to make it work win. We're doomed if Bustamante gets in.

cwilhelmi,

Remind me to steer clear of you and your pants in a few weeks.

Yes, the recall began as a Republican power-play in response to Davis's pre-election omissions as to the state of the state. Since then it has grown to a real possibility. Roughly half the state is in favor of his ousting and they're not all Repulicans. I, myself am an independent.

Bloated social programs are siphoning the life out of this state. We are horrendously taxed and it's still not enough? Davis and Butthead want to raise taxes and spend more.

Also, can you tell me why it's "unconstitutional" to limit social programs such as welfare to U.S. citizens? This state is a mess and spendaholic Davis is largely responsible. Like Arnold said of the Democratic constituency, "You guys have an addiction. You need to go to an addiction place!" : )

I hope it fails too ... and will vote against it, despite the fact that I think the current administration is a dismal failure ...

BUT ... other than it being ludicrous, I'm not against it for the same reasons you state ... if this were a one time deal, I'd be in favor, but it's not ... it's a Pandora's Box of the most major proportions and it will render ANY future governor, irrespective of party, 'nad-less and ineffective ... the process that ALLOWED this fiasco to be possible is the biggest problem we've got in the state .. it is part of the same Populist-created laws that enable the initiative process that has rendered the state legislature weak, weak-willed and ineffective for the past generation ... IF it succeeds and Davis is removed, we will have plunged into an abyss from which we will not escape ...

It will no longer matter who's governor ... it may as well be Gary Coleman, the porn actress or one of the myriad number of joke candidates ... we'll be adrift at sea with NO government worthy of the name.

We need a cram course of study on the wisdom of James Madison and WHY the republican form of government was instituted in this country after the revolution instead of a true democracy ...

Mad ... we have gone utterly MAD ... my only regret is that if the recall DOES succeed, is that Father Guido Sarducci didn't make it onto the final ballot ... if we are to have a comedic governor, I think we ought to at least have a FUNNY one that can make us laugh as we go down in flames ...

I'm giving the recall a strong "NO" vote. This circus is enough to prove that no-one has a plan.

No one can institute a change in policy fast enough that would clear legislative hurdles in time to be effective before a real election takes place. The delays that would be spread in front of any "winner" would negate the effectiveness of a recall.

All a recall would do is punish Davis for bad decisions (and man I get to see them every time I open my PG&E bill). It would do nothing to institute change. Nothing would improve instantly and nothing will be gained by pushing an election before the State elections come.

Huffington comes across as a world class, loud-mouthed, inexperienced witch with no plan but to be a malcontent.

Schwartznegger has no clue nor ability to think on his feet without a script. When it came time for him to think on his feet, it came across as a Jey Leno interview. Nothing about California, everything about Arnold and his Humvee and next movie.

McClintock has no chance to make it.

Cruz is very one dimensional, very much a huge ego (I know a number of people currently and in the past whom have worked for him and with him). He wants to befriend the people, but really isn't very wise in the ways of the big picture. I don't think he can stand up well to big business and corporate influences, just as Davis couldn't.

Camejo was just happy to be there. Nothing interesting to say. Same old Green Party rhetoric.

My vote is no recall....let Davis stay. Cut off his ability to make any grand decisions and wait for a real election.

Maybe Arnold can go to school and learn how to say "California".

Chris ... maybe I didn't say it the way I think it ... LOL

I like Father Guido Sarducci too ... that is why I say that IF the recall is passed, it's a shame he didn't make the final ballot so we could at least have a FUNNY comedic candidate ...
