I'm fond of a punch cutter, but only because I don't have access to a good v cutter. I need to get one. I've had the pleasure of using a good v-cutter several times, definitely makes for a nice draw.

I got the "Visol compact 3 size all in one cigar punch" for a gift and I love it. The largest punch is larger than most and works well for larger ring guage cigars.

I got a new Compound Miter Saw so, that would be my prefered method until I get a table saw and can use HOG's homemade Jig plans... Although if I am inside, I prefer Henkle over my Wustoff's, unless we are talking pizza. Then I use the 4 sided cheese grater.

I think there are a few threads that address this but.... Anything but a torp or perfecto gets a punch from me. I have a Xikar punch and double gillo, love them both.

I'm with Gramps, punch is the superior method IMO. Torps get the business end of my Xikar scissors.

Punch, for pretty much everything, except torps and similar pointed sticks...then it's the xicar.

Unless there's a tight draw, in which case I will cut once it tightens up on me. Nothing is more of a smoke killer than a tight draw.
