What is with all of those stupid clown inserts in the picture posts? It takes no imagination to keep cutting the same pic and inserting it into other photos. Besides wasting bandwith and storage what purpose does this serve?

Hubcap the clown is our little tongue-in-cheek mascot, so to speak. If you ever post a pic of your mug here, sooner or later it too will be "Hubcapped"! Cbid seems to be okay with this since there are tons of Hubcap-erized pics...

He is a respected Shriner, and performs for kids in Springfield, Illinois at Childrens Hospitals to make their lives a little happier.

Since the conception of these forums at CB, he has been the 'unofficial' mascot here ... and it is considered to an honor to be 'Hubcapped' ...

... and it's tradition.

Hubcap doesn't post here anymore because I stole his little motorcycle and he lives 25 miles away from a library with a computer. I took his little fez too. When I want to, I can be a bad man. Who knows maybe I'll ride into your town with my slippers. Weirder things have happened!

redneck, Just what colors would that be? I find it hard to believe that there is only one person who finds this annoying. Maybe others are more polite then I. BTW, I knew that Hubcap is/was a real clown and used to post here. What I don't understand is why this is thought to be funny after....oh I don't know, the 100th time or so.

In all seriousness AVB most of the time I don't think its funny either. Although sometimes someone does tdo a hubcapping that is out of the ordinary and very funny.

But I don't think its meant to be funny. Its more of a tradition. Why do brides wear white? Why do Packer fans wear cheese on their heads? Why do people pass cigars out when a baby is born (although lots of new babies on this board and I have yet to receive any cigars). Because that is the tradition. Someone started hubcapping and it just snowballed from there. If you don't like it that is fine. Then start your own tradition.

Actually, he gets to be even funnier after about 501 times ... to avoid having to wait for an additional 400 pics to be Hubcapped, you could always get up to speed by going back and reviewing that many of the old pics ...
