Robby, I got the gist while skimming through your pool of sarcasm. Rick, you weren't kidding! I've never been on the receiving end of a conservative attack. It gives me a new outlook on things.
Robby, take a breath, a shot of Jose Cuervo, and then count to 100- better make that 10,000. I happen to like many of your comments but all things are not black & white- your rantings won't make them so. Maybe as you grow older you'll understand. Despite the fact that I have ALWAYS been a card-carrying, white, conservative, Republican male, I now agree with some of Ricardo's points. Remember, he sometimes exaggerates to make a point- or at least I hope so.
First of all, George Bush is not stupid. Anyone who gets degrees from Harvard & Yale cannot be stupid. As a founding member of the "Friends of Dan Quayle", I know how the "stupid" label is thrown at conserva-tives. I was even invited to the White House twice. I declined the 2nd time, after his surreptitious collusion with George Mitchell on the new taxes (remember read my lips...).
George is simply out of touch. Maybe he's not very well read. I don't know. What I do know is that he's given us a small tax cut, has defended us from the "muhammedans", built up our military, and stopped the HIDEOUS practice of partial birth abortion.
However, I did NOT vote for Junior so that he would pander to the liberal Hispanic vote by introducing a disastrous immigration amnesty. Yeah, get rid of our borders! That'll help with the war on terrorism & improve our economy. I did NOT vote for Junior so that he would spend money non-stop (except for our military families)! He's NEVER vetoed a spending bill! He's given us a HUGE deficit (maybe he should have practiced balancing a checkbook first!). His ridiculous education bill is an expensive bandaid on a worthless public school system. His 400 billion dollar prescription plan gives "free" drugs to my wealthy parents, while their (handsome) son works 80 hours a week to pay for it- ok, ignore the handsome part. I did NOT vote for Junior so that he would establish colonies in the middle east. Let the muhammedans & their "great" religion take care of that!
I watch the U.S. economy "improve" (on paper) while the Government ignores small businesses which are the live blood of this country, and gives HUGE contracts to large corporations. I never thought that I would praise Al "Ozone for Brains" Gore, but the man effectively decentralized Government purchases. He instinctively knew how to cut down on the paperwork & give the little guy a bigger share of the pie. We would bid on on projects & the buyers would pay promptly with their credit cards. Now, thanks to Dubya, the buying process has been centralized again. WE call them & they say "no thanks, we have to place orders with the Lighthouse for the Blind, then the GSA Schedule, and finally, if we're lucky, the lowly small business gets a shot... The Lighthouse & the GSA Schedule are MORE expensive but Dubya has "streamlined" the purchasing like a good little bureucrat, by leaving small businesses out of the initial loop. George gives the illusion of saving $$$ but all that he's doing is shifting the wealth to larger corporations which are already entrenched in the system. He's a "steward" of the nation's pocketbook by giving the money to wealthy organizations that are more expensive and have FEWER products to offer. Thank you Junior!!
Oh, I almost forgot that we're the lucky recipients of the Patriot Act! This allows our benevolant Government to break down our doors without a warrant! That's all the kindly FBI & ATF need. After all they have an excellent track record (Waco, Ruby Ridge, etc.)!
Robby, does that help? Do you need more? I've got more if you want it.
George Jr. is a rich, pampered man who is out of touch! Problem is the Democrats are worse! Regardless, of that this will be the first election that I sit out, and I've been voting since 1972 (Nixon-I know that's nothing to brag about).
Take care & no hard feelings. Boy, are my fingers tired!
