Although there are many I listen to more, Sinatra and Nat King Cole were both about as great technically as any that ever lived. Listen to both of their phrasing. Either would smooth right through place where any mortal human would have taken a breath.

Also, even if you don't listen to classical at all, do yourself a favor and listen to anything, in English or Italian, by Andrea Bocelli

LOL at Bud.

Udo had some cool solo albums after he left Accept. Even sang a ballad.

I see some of you are mistaking great singers for just good singers who sing great songs.

Paul Stanley?
Sammy Hagar?
Dio?
Diamond Dave? Come on now!
Elvis? that's right,Big E. Product of times and songs he song.

I just think some of you get caught up in the songs rather then the actual singing part.

"I just think some of you get caught up in the songs rather then the actual singing part."

Have you listened to "Phantom of the Opera"? Would you conclude that it's musical numbers are some of the hardest to perform? While Crawford starred in and defined the role for anyone else to follow behind him, Paul Stanley did to his credit and talent a magnificent job during his run in Toronto.

http://www.extreme-online.com/features/26/26a.htm

I'm basing it on talent, not how he looks or acts. He has the hair on the back of your neck raised. If you can find a copy of his performance(usually at Kiss Expos)by all means buy it. You will not be disappointed.

It took a lot of guts to take on the role, but it wasn't just some publicity gimmick to put people in the seats. It's been a passion of Paul's to do opera, but his Kiss commitments take up most of his time, well that and his charity work.

As far as Dio...go back to Rainbow and his early solo material as well as his stint with Black Sabbath...he can wail a tune out there and keep a note for a sustained period.

Bette Midler
Annie Lennox

Danny Elfman- Highly underrated. One of the best live voices I have heard. Does a yodel that will knock your socks off.

i shouldnt ,but i am basing my opinion on seeing alot of these people in concert, except elvis.

James Dio was pathetic
KISS was average at best

i do think that they didnt give it their best because it's just Oklahom City, and not L.A.,or Dallas.

That's pretty harsh man.

What if they had a cold that day? To discount what they do in a studio is criminal and you could discredit every person on here based on that logic!

I did see Elvis twice...he wasn't all that. I like his gospel stuff and a couple songs here and there, but to rip on Kiss?!? It's about Paul Stanley the performer...NOT Kiss the band!

PS: This is what I was listening to when I suggested Dio be included. I suggest you find a copy of this too!

Never heard Paul Stanley do opera so I can't speak to that. But Ronnie James Dio is a very good singer.
