Ok, I'm a connoisseur... I don't necessarily like bourbon, but I do like "really" good bourbon... I've had several that I consider "premium", but am curious as to what others may think.

1. Bookers, it's actually made by the same folks that make Jim Beam, but it's their single barrel whoop-de-doo stuff. It has a certain candy characteristic that is difficult to describe.

2. H. Hirsch Reserve. Top notch, smooth as a baby's a$$.

3. Woodford Reserve. Same same...

Does anyone else have anything to add to this elite list? Or an amen?

I don't know good bourbon so I'll take your word for it.

I do like bourbon Beam is my go to.

Does that have beer in it? I like beer. It's not just for breakfast anymore.

Woodford Reserve is the official Bourbon of the Ky Derby and it is indeed excellent.

Bookers is truly one of the best. Neat or with some ice is is oh so good.

I used to really enjoy Makers Mark, but now find my tastes drifting away. I still have some around, but don't drink it as much.

Another pair of good bourbons are Basil Hayden and Knob Creek. Both affordable and tasty.

Bourbon, my favorite.

lets see,

Bookers, Knob Creek, Jim Beam
Wild Turkey (101 and Rare Breed)
Can't forget Woodford.

And one I've recently been enjoying is Buffalo Trace. Matter of fact I'm finishing a couple fingers worth right now with an Oliva "O" Ole.

My go to is good old Beam.

I really like Makers Mark (I would love to try their cigars as well but cant find one for the right price)

I also LOOOOVE Willie Nelsons Whiskey River Whiskey. I went to his show and had it there for the first time and offered the lady behind the bar sixty bucks for it. She told me that they couldn't sell it by the bottle. Lucky me I found it a month later for half the price 🙂

This recently came to me from a friend. I was stumped. What are:
Ezra Brooks
Elijah Craig
George Dickel
Johnny Drum
J.P. Van Winkle
Pappy Van Winkle
Evan Williams

Answer: all American bourbons being made today.

Two EXCELLENT Bourbons yet to be named on this thread...

Blantons (my fav)
Jefferson Reserve

IMHO, and I drink A LOT of bourbon, are better than all the others named that aren't Bookers. Blantons is extremely smooth. Best sipped neat. It's the oposite of Bookers high octane goodness.

Peter Jakes is another nice moderatley priced bourbon.

Bookers, Blantons, Woolfords Reserve
Bakers,
And at the top of the ladder Basil Haydens
If you haven't tried it, give it a taste

Ah yes, Basil Haydens...I second that one. I still prefer Blantons, but that is a fine adult beverage.

I'll second the Elijah Craig. Even though it doesn't cost as much it sure is good!

wow. nobody has said Jack Daniels Single Barrel.

Seriously, it's right up there with Bookers and it may be a bit better.
