Is this really possible? I'm not a supporter of Kerry but I would vote for McCain (I have twice). What would this do to the Republicans and the Democrats? Would it completely de-legitimize the ticket? Would it be just what the country needs? Am I just full of...I almost forgot about getting my mouth washed out...

BTW - I think that both Bush and Kerry are decent people who just have different views on some issues. So no posts saying that Bush is a Nazi and Kerry is a Communist, etc, etc, etc…

tum on buhwheat, I was just quoting you! Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!! And it was a direct quote too, a cut and paste.

Actually, it is a mis-quote because it was taken out of context to change the meaning. A direct quote would’ve included the entire sentence. But really I don't care about that. Do you have any comments on this topic? I'm interested in hearing your or anyone else’s opinions.

P.S. I did break my own rule by slamming you and yes it was funny.

It would make sense to me.

McCain IS a democrat! His voting record is more in line with Daschle than with 99% of his "republican" mates!

One thing McCain does do is stick to his guns. If he were to change his mind and decide to run with Kerry it would be the 1st time that I can remember that he went across what he has already stated. He's already told Kerry "No" once.

it will never happen. The dems are still trying to find a good running mate that will help Kerry lose so Hilary can go for '08

I don’t really think that McCain is a democrat. I just think that 99% of the Republican (and Democratic Party) bow down to their constitutes to appease them and McCain doesn’t (at least not as much). Some would say that this is what good politicians should do (e.g. listen to the people that they represent) and I partially agree with this. However, it is not the majority that the politicians generally listen to; it is the people with the dollars. Whether it is big business or unions or PACS. Plus the majority can be fickle (even more than the candidates).

I do think that you make an interesting point about McCain sticking to his guns (it is one of the main reasons that I like him). In reality I think that McCain wouldn’t take the job if offered; so it won’t be offered. I think that Kerry’s running mate will probably end up being Edwards.

I wonder what Hilary's campaign slogan would be? Who would run with her? Man, I could **** up with a s**t load of jokes on this one...

I think it should be Kerry and Larry Flynt. That way if elected it sure would be entertaining!!

Kerry and the nut Soros (spelling?) would make a great ticket for the Democrats!

I wish this forum had a way to edit posts. Obviously, my typing and spelling could use some work. Oh well, I'm sure my point is long lost.

I was responding to your statement: "Actually, it is a mis-quote because it was taken out of context to change the meaning..."

I didn't just repeat what Robby posted, I used the correct punctuation to make it a grammatically correct direct quote. My error, of course, was assuming you would be intellectually advanced enough to see the humor without my having to explain it.

rd2thbn I understood what you meant. I just didn't think that it was funny. Kind of beating the horse, if you know what I mean? ;-}
