Gotta Tell ya'll about Morons... you take it from here..

Last night I get a call around 10:30 pm.. it's County Jail will I accept the charges from (Brothers Name)?
I accepted, Hey A**Hole come bail me out I need a couple hundered to bail me outa here.. I asked wtf did you do this time? "Battery" on who this time? and why the F*ck don't you get a life? your always doing this sh*t and for being 50 yrs old it's about time you grow up... Hey MF just come get me out.. I said no way, who the hell is this battery on? Oh I Beat, ~scratch that~ I'm accused of beating one of my partners in the business the little **** had one coming ~scratch that~ he needs a good one coming... I said I don't have no cash, you ain't paid me back for the last couple times somebody had one coming or you decided to run from cops.. and I think you sitting this one out will give you some time to think about it... well I was everything accept a white boy just before I hung up on his a**... (now these phone lines are listened to) how many years you think he will get for this? 1)he cannot afford a Lawyer like Mike Tyson, and 2) he's guilty as hell... I also told him he needs to get a life and a job and stop hanging out with the trash he does hang out with.. he is 50 yrs old and has not held a job for a month straight since his divorce 20 some yrs ago...
best I can do to help him is pray for him. and maybe this is Gods answer to all this...Jail... at least he'll still be alive and he can lose that chip on his shoulder of feeling everybody owes him...

now will he get more time for using the word **** instead of mexican? hell I've never met his partners and who's to say he's even a mexican? it could have just been a word he spit out of his mouth.. the facts are (well until prooving/but I know my brother) he beat a man...and for what reason? did this guy take the last can of beer from the cooler? or take the peice of meat he was looking at off the grill?

first things first. if you had chosen to bail him out and i'm sure you could have, you would be called an "enabler." that is someone who because of his benevolence allows another to continue an inappropriate life style.

at least you were aware of what your brother's life style was about and you made exactly the right decision.

my brother who is 66 came to me a 2 years ago with a financial problem. i didn't know why. he had kitted $900.00 worth of checks at a check cashing service and they were all do to be cashed.

i agreed to pay for the checks on condition that he let me handle all his money for three months and set a budget for him. it turns out he was bringing home about $1000.00 a month net, working part time and he received $800.00. from social security each month.

he is single and was paying $600.00 a month for his apartment and other then food and utilities, he had no debts. at the end of 3 months everything was current, and i was paid in full. the fourth month we opened a savings account for him so that in the fifth month he would have over $1,000.00 saved, be current on everything, and have a workable budget that would save close to $10,000.00, enough for him to return to paris and england for a good vacation, something he had done 15 years ago and wanted to return again.

at the beginning of the fifth month i asked hime what he had in the savings account, and he was down to $300.00. i asked him what the hell happenned to the other $700.00 assuming he bought something he needed or wanted, or was paying child support or something like that. the answer i got was he would take a twenth here and there, but with no explaination as to why.

needless to say i told him he was clear, had a few buck, and i didn't want to handle his money anymore, i had my own to deal with.

about 9 months ago, he asked me if he could store some things of his at my house, because he and the landlord were not getting along and he had to move. he said the rent was current, which turned out to be true.

he also had very little money at that point to rent another apartment what with first and last and whatever else. i paid for pick up and storage for his furniture, which he paid me back the next pay check and we thought he could sleep in my office, save the rent which at that time was $650.00 and he would be back on his feet and ready to live properly again.

at the end of two months the owner of the complex my office is in, called me and said i couldn't let my brother stay there any longer. no problem, he should have had at least the $1300.00 he had saved on rent.

then i find out that he is broke, and of all things, he is buying scratcher tickets every day to the tune of all the money he had saved on rent plus any other extra money he had available.

the landlord gave me no choice, so he had to leave my office that weekend.

i never thought of myself as naive, but i was in the face of all the evidence that something was wrong.

the last time i saw my brother was when i bimped into him in the parking lot of a grocery store. we talked a bit about his problem and it turns out my kids had talked to him about going to gambler's ann. ross my oldest asked bradley, my youngest, if he would drive my brother to GA which was only 10 minutes from the office and bradley refused. smart tough love came from bradley. "if he won't drive himself there, he is not interested in changing and he has to help himself."

two years ago my brother gave me a present of a tee shirt with a picture of two little boys on the front. it was a picture of us at age 6 and 10 that he had been carrying for almost 60 years.

when my brother and i parted at the parking lot, i asked him to call me when he got straightened out. i haven't heard from him.

i don't know what this has to do with your question, but i thank you for letting me unload something that has been eating at me.

Rick, you had told this story before... "Tough Love" is always the hardest, my brother has been deep into everyone's pockets in the family including mine many times always with a Promise to pay it back.. then later with an angrey heart letting you feel like you Owed him... he has not hit rock bottom yet he still has a few items of possesions remaining and I am storing some of them here at my house... but someone not willing to help themselves there is not much you can do for them...
I've gone out of my way to help many no matter their heritage and this includes muslims... not expecting anything in return but always have been rewarded even it being a "Thank You" was well more deserved...

as in this post.. Racism is a very strong word and is the perception of the beholders... as Robby points out.. where is the line drawn as to the perceptions??

the divisions drawn are mainly made up by the media and played out in such away as to keep hatered alive and well in the US of A...

good luck with your Brother and today may be a good day to locate and see how he is?? is he a father??

as for mine I know where he is spending his Fathers Day... and so doesn't is children his pattern has not changed course as yet...

"hate crimes" is not about the *emotion* of hate.

hate crimes are about terrorizing a group of people by making examples out of one/a few of them.

hog, no -- your brother will not be found guilty of committing a hate crime. even by his own speech on a taped phone, it was clear that your brother's actions were intended for the victim as an INDIVIDUAL -- they were not geared towards terrorizing latinos in general -- even IF he called him a ****.

"he had it coming" = one man = no hate crime
"they all have it coming" = group of people = hate crime

hate crimes have ZERO to do with whether or not an individual hates, loves or is indifferent to a group of people sharing the same race/ethnicity/sexual orientation.

it is about the intent to create terror, fear and intimidation in a GROUP of people sharing the aforementioned characteristics.

hate crimes DON'T make sense if you think "it's all about whether or not the perp hates x group." but it's not about what he's thinking or feeling at all -- it's about whether or not his actions were meant to cause or spread terror within x group of people.

totally different ball game.

one is a crime against individuals
a hate crime is a crime against an entire segment of humanity.

Ok, if I kill someone because I don't like them, I get sentence X

But if I kill someone because I hate the group their from, I should get sentence Y? It sounds all good and well until it's actually broken down, until at which point, it breaks down...

It's the crime dude, NOT how you feel about it while you're doing it. It's the F'ing crime! Hello!?

I realize what the definition of a so-called "hate crime" is.

I just don't see why one type of cold-blooded murder is worse than another.

Providing a catchy, PC phrase is simply a way to elevate an agenda.

Robby, I cannot believe you refuse to see the difference.

Here, let me explain it so even you can comprehend.

I kill you because you are spewing racist bile in my face - manslaughter.

I, randomly pick out a nonthreatening target, say a white mother and child, kill them because I am mad at you and they are white - HATE CRIME!

Stop being obtuse. You cannot somehow cast yourslf and the white race as innocent, unknowing victims, no matter how your twist and pervert logic.

Oh yeah, I know you do not want anyone to cloud this discusion with FACTS, but hate crimes can and ARE perpetrated against WHITE people.

Don't be a buffoon and answer the question, you accuse me of clouding manslaughter and murder. You're playing games with words. There are ALREADY laws on the books about manslaughter and murder jacka$$. Aren't there?

If I come home and catch you in bed with my wife and kill you, manslaughter. But if I come home and catch you in bed with my wife, and you’re of a race other than me that I don’t like, and I kill you? Not manslaughter? WTF? Wake up dude, stop blaming society and others for your problems… If you have issues, they’re your own, not my or anyone else’s problems.

P.S., are you any less dead in either case? Is one crime worse than the other? Deal with your issues and stop blaming others. Educate, teach your children, blend in to the melting pot, or be a statistic...

Cavallo wrote "hate crimes are about terrorizing a group of people..." YES!

Hate crimes are a form of terrorism, as are the murders of abortion doctors, the fire bombing of abortion clinics, the beheading of Apache helicopter mechanics, crashing loaded planes into the World Trade Centers, and the bombing of the Oklahoma City Federal buiding. They are all RANDOM violence intended to intimidate people or alter their behavior through FEAR.

If you cannot see the difference then you are the one who is stupid.

Here's one for you, even better, you're my neighbor, I hate you, for no other reason than you're liberal and I cannot abide liberals. So I kill you. ok, now you're my neighbor, you're white, I'm not, I kill you because I hate white people. Not because I hate liberals. Ok, you're dead right? Less dead? More dead? Or equally as dead? Which crime was worse? Should I be prosecuted differently for the two crimes?

I can't wait for this one. Oh, never mind, you'll run from this question like a bad rash...

Don't be stupid, read the scenario and answer the question, unless you're afraid... Then I'll gladly answer any question your racist butt wants to put before me.
Robby

You can't answer that question because it requires rational thought which will fly in the face of the emotion with which you prefer to view things. Instead you will shake your head, curse under your breath, and walk (slither) away proclaiming your victory for your point of view which is that the earth is flat and you can prove it because you’ve never sailed over the edge… 2+2 = 4. Murder = murder. One is not worse than the other REGARDLESS of your insecurity based on your perceived abuse.

Robby, your ignorance is showing again. In your imaginary senario, there is no hate crime because the act is NOT random. You, like most racists, want to make race the preeminent factor in all issues. IT IS NOT! The key, if you knew anything about the issues and the laws you are whining about, is not ONLY race, but it is the RANDOM selection of vicims based, solely, on their belonging to the group(s) that you hate, be they blacks, gays, lesbians, asians, arabs, liberals, whites, or any other group.

You could not be more confused and ill informed on this issue.

By your perverted logic, Osama Bin Laden is only guilty of murder and is no worse than you for killing your next door neighbor.

You are incredible perverse. Worse, you have no bedrock morals, only arguments to support whatever stupid, ignorant position you have boxed yourself into.

Robby, you have the nerve to respond to questions because you do not have the self knowledge to realize that you only possess a facile wit but no intelligence. When you write this inane gibberish you truly show all exactly how far your ignorance extends.

Am I speaking to you in a manner which you can understand?
Kazama

The sickest part, after rereading your posts, is you somehow see YOURSELF as some kind of victim. You then project this out into the world, assuming that, because you are a loser and feel powerless, that everyone else must feel like victims too.

How sad for you.
Robby

How sad for you, a coward who runs from a simple question. Typically liberal tactic, coward. I never said I was victum coward. I asked you some simple questions which you ran from like a housewife from a mouse in the kitchen (typical) coward... You call names, sling mud, and run from a simple question (coward) (typical). Here’ s a thought? Why not grow a pair and answer the simple question coward?
