LOL. That is good. What do you guys think of the prices for shipping on other things? Seems a little high at times.

Why does it cost $1 more to send a pound of Mayorga coffee than Felipe Gregorio coffee? (lots 26907 & 26904) Hey, I'm not complaining, though; I'll pay $1 more instead of the $7000+ for the humidor!

delarob, while I do agree they may be just a bit higher than most cigar sites.I take advantage of their reduced shiping policy and have all my shipments from the past week shiped on friday (1st 5pk $4.95 all others that week 50 cents).Check into it,if you are having them shiped every day you win a bid,yes you are paying way too much.Jim

Aw Hell Trish, it was more fun to read all the comments and suggestions than to find out the real price of the shipment! I thought you might have been sending the humidor on Air Force One or something like that! Charlie :):):):)

Jjohnson,
I was on daily shipping,...for the first day! LOL Then, since I have started living here, I went to weekly. I got two five packs, payed 4.50 and the shipping was 3.50. Ya it's just a dollar, but when it adds up to more, then it's like, what the... Obviously I'll pay it cause I'm still here. Bid properly and you can figure the total is still lower than most shops, and some mail order. It would be nice however to pay the actual shipping charges and not more. On a lighter note.... is it me or has the bidding gotten steeper in just the last week.

Been getting steeper all along, but everytime someone complains about it they get "hammered" with responses! I am one that bids only on the deals that I know are good deals and do not drive the pricing up due to overenthusiastic (I wish we had spell check here) bidding! You can still get good deals if you know what you are bidding on and don't try to win each and every bid! It is lots of fun and games and the old supply and demand theory should take hold! The last 10 days or so it seems there is no regard for how much some of the bozos are willing to pay. I guess you can have no concern for price when you steal Mom's credit card number. Still able to get Hoyo de Monterrey rothschilds at a reasonable price. Let's keep that way shall we?

buy hoyo's roths by the box at $2.00 a stick. One of my favorites. Seems to me the real bid deals are on the boxes now. Got a box of extremes robustos for $90.00 on Cbid selling for $120-130.00 at places not mentioned. Bid early, auto bid your max and stick with it. There are more deals comming everyday.

I checked on the shipping I've been paying since 1/01. It runs up to 50% of the cost of the product. I use the weekly plan. I figured the pound weight using USPS express. Wow are we paying a premium for shipping. This is true especially since other cigar places usually charge on the weight. The shipping cancels out any real savings for the most part.

Exactly. When you figure the total cost for shipping, you are paying more than you should. Sure, you pay a reduced rate for multiple items, but the rate we are paying is still higher than cbid is paying. We all know what rates are and I for one would not be against cbid just emailing me what the cost is and adding it to the total. Those extra few $'s each order add up.

We attempt to be as fair as possible with our shipping charges and I'd like to discuss some of the claims made. The cost of 50% of your total winnings is not a fair statement b/c we don't know what you've won. For example, if you won one Don Tomas 3-pack for $3.00, you would pay $3.95 shipping which is 132% greater than the cost of your product. If you won a box of Montecristo #3 for $80 and your shipping is $5.50, the percentage is only 6.9%.

Also, unless we can find warehouse workers that are willing to work pro-bono (for the good of cigar smokers everywhere) we have to charge some handling fees above the exact shipping charge. Any volunteers?

And, as you could probably guess, certain packages require more handling than others, especially those of you that buy 10 sets of 5 empty cigar boxes. What a nightmare to pack! In these cases, many shipments gets bounced into a DIM WEIGHT charge and boosts the shipping charge. Because of the auction environment, there are millions of different shipment possibilities. We make our best effort to guess-timate approximate shipping and handling charges and attempt to be as fair as possible. So, keep the suggestions coming and we'll continue working hard to keep you guys pleased with our service.
