Definition of sport...........If they do not play defense, it isn't a sport!!!! Yes, I love golf, it is my second favortie of all the "sports" with baseball far and away number one in my view! Football is getting to be like the NBA, lots of thugs and gangsters on the playing field, and they (as a whole) do not give one happy damn for the fans....individuals do, but as a whole they (NFL & especially NBA) do not!~

Baseball is the sport!

Charlie, it's OK to like baseball without dissin the NFL. In fact, I'll bet that the NFL does more community work than the MLB.
I know they do here in the Land Of Champions.

For the record, Bassdude is not a recent Colts/Manning fan. He's no bandwagon jumper. I've secured a few stogies from him in the past and anxiously await my next winnings after the Pats once again befuddle Manning.

On the bright side, Paid-a-ton Manning will likely break yet more records next season. He'll have plenty of time off to rest after Sunday, and his fingers won't be weighted down by any big, fancy rings....

I'm pulling for the Jets, which is difficult for me to do. I want the AFC championship game in Foxboro so I can attend.
I will gladly cheer for Pittsburgh if someone could secure a ticket with my name on it...

As for the NFC, I don't follow the minor leagues.

Hey Joe,

Reread it and I sounded like Jack, inside joke for tailgater and SteveS, too damn negative! Yes, I know the NFL does a big amount of charity work.....just getting too many Randy Moss types playing for my tastes!

Pitt, StL, Minn and Indy.

As much as it pains me to say it, I feel the Pats have too many injured players to contend with Manning and company.

Philly without TO is all but done. However, since Minnesota's defense sucks, they may just make it to the championship game again.

I think since StL is playing in a dome, they got a really good chance of beating Atlanta. If Vick starts running... I don't know who they have to spy him.

The Jets ain't gonna beat Pittsburgh. Nuff said.

Steelers and Colts were originally NFL (NFC) teams, pre merger and re-alignment. Without re-alignment NFC Super Bowl wins would be more lopsided.

Don't live in the past, Thurston.
The Stillers and the Dolts are in the AFC now, and have been for many moons.
Following that logic, we should root for the Manchester United, since so much of America was founded by the Brits.

Pablo: What?
If I wasn't clear before, let me be clear now.
The World Champion New England Patriots will reclaim their crown.
I speak from my heart, but I've got history on my side.
Paid-a-ton Manning has NEVER won in Foxboro.

As tail said I have been a Colts fan for over 8 years. My favorite team is the Pack. With Favre out I go to my next favorite. I was a huge Steeler fan back in the day of the Jacks, Swann and da man TB.

golf is a leisure activity just like bowling and pool.

wvw - I tend to follow my favorite players as long as they don't play for the skins, boys, iggles or chokes.

I still like Pitt but prefer to see my favorite players win. hell I was a fins fan when griese played

Pitt - Because Jets are overrated and never will win anything with Pennington - Big Ben = Big Day

St Louis - Because Vick cannot throw a pass to save his life, they stop his run = win for the Rams

Minnesota - Because No TO for Donovan, to much pressure for Donovan, fails again and again and again

New England - Because Brady is the man - they maybe hurt, but still to much for a DUNGY coached team

my .02 thank you

Pablo,
I've already got a fiver on the game with Bassdude.
In fact, we placed that wager well before I knew there would be rematch, and therefore before we knew it would be in Foxboro.
I'm confident in my team, but I don't put all my eggs in one basket.

As for Manning, he's had a stellar year no matter what happens Sunday. But people forget one thing:
It's not Indy's offense vs. the Pats D. It's also the Patriots offense vs. the Colts "d".

Despite Indy's outstanding year, there's only one team in the league that can claim the largest differential between points scored and points allowed.
And that team happens to be New England.

Let's assume a high scoring game. Let's assume Peyton has his way with our depleted secondary and an injured Richard Seymour.
But you can never assume that Tom Brady and his healty recievers will somehow be shut down by that joke of defense from Indy. And if they are, we'll simply let Corey Dillon stiff arm his way for 180 yards.

Pablo sums it up.

I think tail has a pretty good analysis but I think the O will overcome the D.
