A little OTT for me, I doubt that these jokes would be a very successful standup act, but in my mind, God has a good sense of humor (ever see the platypus??).

Rick,

got the DVD's..... thanks.

Jon doesn't like the Christian jokes.......I understand why. It is not funny to joke about someones faith and/or beliefs.

So what does he do? He defames the holocaust and uses words of aggression and evil to lash out at the one who spoke poorly of his religion. Well, then. Only one thing comes to mind here.....WWJD?

It's statements such as his that give Christianity a bad name.

Tsk Tsk.

My retort:

They were jokes about my GOD, not Christian jokes as you claim.

Show me where I said anything to defame the holocaust, show me my words of aggression and evil, or shut your communistic pie hole.

I'm not sure I'm following you here....

You say they were jokes about your GOD, but not Christian jokes? I don't get it. I read the jokes and they seemed pretty much to be making fun of Christians and the Christian faith. I apologize, I thought you were a Christian. I didn't see any jokes on there about other Gods. Help me out here.

Regardless, you were offended by the jokes....so was I.

I felt myself a better person though, and kept quiet about it, than one who needed to come back with a flame about the holocaust and questioning whether or not there were 6 million jokes (an obvious direct towards your prior statement about the number of the dead).

Rick is sensitive about the holocaust and you know it. Whether his posting of these jokes was called for or not, I don't believe the Christian faith calls for a believer of that faith to lash out in the way that you did. Silence or a question such as, "Rick, that was uncalled for, why do you constantly try to offend and injure the spirit of Chistians?" would have been more appropriate.

But then again, you've now labeled me a communist. Why? Because I have tried to warn folks about the handwriting on the wall, and I have posted about the prevention of America's sell out to other governments? I'm right dab in the middle of the buying and selling of America, and I let others know that they are losing their jobs to foreign firms, and that they should research this.......that makes me a communist?

Man, you are way out there somewhere.

You claim your a better person for keeping quiet about ricks blasphemy but yet you try to put me down in defense of rick, why not remain quiet instead of lashing out (as you put it) at me, hmmmm I wonder sometimes about your "over" protectiveness of rick.

As far as calling you a communist, every chance you get you "try" to put down America (read some of your recent posts and replies) and say China is going to be the next super power (yeah right).

Oh yeah one last thing, you were upset because America didn't shower the tsunami victims fast enough with tons of money, maybe what we should have done was give all of them the same thing we give Americans here at home who lose everything due to floods, earthquakes, fires, hurricanes, etc. " LOW INTEREST LOANS".

You say I'm way out there, your wrong I'm right here in America, it is you that is way out there.

Jon, have you ever been out of the country? Out of your state?

Here's a joke for you in particular.....

Q: What's the difference between the USA and a glass of milk?

A: After 200 years, the glass of milk will have grown a culture.

Jon,

In regards to your comment about China being the next superpower (yeah right), as you state above, I decided to post the below message out of the newspaper for you. I normally don't like posting things straight off the web, instead I put my own thoughts to the thread based upon my own research and knowledge of the subject. In this case I'll make an exception.

One of World's Fastest-growing Economies in 21st Century

China is brewing another round of economic wonder in the next decade.

There are several indications to show that China will attain such aspirations, as the Chinese economy has already shown major improvement at the turn of the century.

Latest figures on the Chinese economy, announced by Qiu Xiaohua, deputy director of the National Bureau of Statistics at the ongoing conference of Overseas Chinese Worldwide 2000, are positive.

The figures show a growth rate of 8.2 percent for the entire Chinese economy in the first half of the year and for the first eight months, industrial output rose by 11.6 percent, export volume by 34.6 percent. China's foreign exchange reserve is now approaching 160 billion US dollars.

"This shows that the Chinese economy is very likely to end a relatively tumultuous time since 1993, especially since the outbreak of the Asian financial crisis," Qiu said. He said that " China is capable of seeking faster and better development in the new century."

According to a blueprint mapped out by the central government, China will realize an annual growth rate of over seven percent in the coming decade, and by the year 2010, will have doubled the gross domestic output for the year 2000.

If so, China will become one of the fastest-growing economies worldwide in the 21st century.

Professor Fang Sheng, an economist with the Chinese People's University, echoed the remarks.

China has quadrupled its Gross Domestic Product over the past two decades, which has helped reduced the distance from industrialized nations, he said.

The fact that China is increasingly merging itself into the global economy, is carrying out strategically important economic restructuring, is speeding up the development of information technology and is exploring the west, has paved the way for fast economic development, said Fang.

Furthermore, China's accession into the World Trade Organization (WTO) is drawing near. Further opening-up of China and its reforms will in turn accelerate economic development.

The World Bank estimates that China's WTO accession will result in 116 billion US dollars in profit for China and four million job opportunities annually.

In another development, China's reform of state-owned enterprises (SOEs), widely viewed as essential to China's success, is progressing smoothly.

The marginal profit increase in the SOEs during the first eight months of this year signaled that China is able to lift the SOEs out of the red by the end of the century.

The information industry is also leaping forward in China, maintaining a growth rate of 20 percent throughout the past decade.

So far, China has the world's second largest fixed phone network and the third largest mobile phone network. The number of China's Internet users has reached 16.9 million, which doubled the number at the end of last year.

The international society comments that "China's Internet economy used three years to achieve what takes other countries a decade to achieve."

In the meantime, China is drafting a blueprint for the next five years.

Sources say that China will continue its current momentum. The investment in fixed assets will increase by 10 percent annually and the total trade volume for the coming decade will exceed two trillion US dollars.

Many CEOs in the world's major corporations agree that China's huge market potential is becoming a reality to the investors.

Are you a businessman Jon? If so, that should all make sense. Still a nonbeliever? Type "world's fastest growing economies" into your search engine and see what you come up with.

Open your eyes....

yeah, rick, some of the jewish jokes were pretty funny. a couple of the jesus and god jokes were a bit over the top for me. i think that some of those were only funny to people that hate religion. i kinda liked some of the priest jokes, too. they were pretty brutal, but funny.

First, I want to say your observations on China were enlightening. I am researching potential investments there as I can see the enormous growth potential.

Second, in regards to folks like JonR, I don't much bother with them or their comments anymore--there just isn't any intelligence behind their gutter-sniper remarks. Also, notice how quickly once you confront him with the facts, as you did in the China brief, he runs and hides.

Finally, to answer your question of him as to whether he has ever been out of the country, or out of state, I think it's safe to say the only thing he has been out of is his mind.

Yo Wanker:

your statement:

Well it appears that by removing RICKAMAVEN's post CBid has chosen to become political. There have been numerous posts here, as well as some personal attacks that I have found personally offensive that CBid did not pull. I was man enough to live with it which is more than I can say of the few crybabies here that obviously influenced CBid's decision. If CBid pulls one they should have pulled all.

The only way to register my protest is economically. I have spent around $1,000 here over the past year and have brought about a half-dozen individuals to this site. I will make no further purchases here and will try to influence my friends to do likewise. There is plenty of competition to CBid (and Cigars International) that will be happy with my business.

This is a sickening sign of the growing censorship in this country that will lead it to hell. So I say to hell with CBid.

Goodbye,

Wagner

My retort:

What happened? Afraid to leave by yourself, tooooo stupid to find the door? It's the "BIG" door on the left, Goodbye.

Hog,

I plan on coming home in the summer. I'd like to be there for the races. REO used to practice in my parents garage when we were on the farm. My Dad and Kevin Cronin go back.

They used to have car races up and down and around Detweiler hills when I was about 2 years old. My mom has home movies of them. Too many people got hurt I guess.

I'll definately keep you posted about it.
