i know somebody has probably asked this before but i haven't seen it---do you store your cigars in the cellophane or without? which makes for a better smoke?

mmmmmmmm... I don't think that's ever been asked before. Personally I like to take the cello off before smoking, otherwise they stink and burn funny, (cedar sleeves are a different story) LOL. Try cigarnexus.com, good info. Barry

Jazz Im not sure how new you are to the boards but if you ever have a question that you think may have already been asked, and it probably has, the easiest way to see is to enter even just one word were it says --- Search the Boards --- enter your word (cello)and then drop down and select all messages then hit enter it will show any posts with the word cello in them or any other word you enter into the search. I hope this helps I know it has helped me with many questions that I have had.....Jason

For asking that question, you must now send me all your cigars. celloed or un celloed, I don't really care. Sorry, thems the rules. Oh yeah, you can send some to Charlie and Slim too, they hate that question.

Cigars wrapped in a cello? Maybe I've seen them with violins, but never cellos. What will they think of next?

Not again......take mine off. I love to smoke w/out having to fumble with a wrapper when the time comes. There are two schools of thought however.......warning however, don't put those girly perfumed cigars with your plain cigars........but of course you would not, just simply re-affirming!

YoYoMa should know his way around a cello!! I prefer my cigars and my women naked! Charlie

Sorry for the rudeness of the other posters, especially the mean one that did not include my name in the list of who to send all your gars to. The answer to your question, without a whole lot of searching, is, jeeze, just a second, I dropped my answer sheet. Be right back.

Hey Jazz. I think you've been hazed enough.... Some say cigars age better with the cello off. Some also believe that removing the cello increases the possibility each cigar will take on flavor characteristics of the cigar it's in contact with. Those that feel strongly about this keep different wrappers separated in their humidor or in different humidors altogether. Me, I guess I don't care enough to worry about all this - I keep cello on because they're easier to carry once I decide to smoke one but need to tuck it in a shirt pocket for a while. Then again, you may want to listen to Yoyo, a true cello man. I've heard that he plays a pretty decent tune with those little plastic sleeves.

It is personal preference. If you like to look at your smokes often, like I do, leave the Cello on so the wrappers don't get damaged with handling.

I don't really see any good reason to take the cello of, unless you like the way they look naked.

I personally believe that a cigar can't reach it's pinnacle of smokeability with the cellophane on. The cigar must breathe and ventilate to properly age.

The only problem with leaving the cello on is the harsh plastic taste when you light it. If you can get past that, it's like sniffing airplane glue.
