actually i didn't get mine nor will i. ater paying ito the system since age 15 until know, yes i pay still pay into the system even as i draw my soc security.
the system pays me close to $9,000.00 a year and i pay back into it about $2500 to $3000.00 a year. in case you don't know, my social security does not increase
as i add more money back. the amount is fixed when i started drawing it +/- inflation. i probably won't even draw what i put in over the 50 + years.
so don't hand me any you got yours and the hell with the rest of the people.
i expect my son's and should i have a grandson before i die, will do what i did. pay into the pool, expect some people will draw less and some more then they and make some personal investments to insure their ability to retire and have enough money to pay their bills and have some left over for having fun.
i do advocate that when someone reaches the age of 100, all their bills and expenses should be paid by everyne else.
they should be able to go into a restaurant eat a meal and have the owner say, "it's on me."
no bus fair, wait their turn at the airpot and if there is a vacant seat the airline should say "this way mam/sir, we are going there anyway. hop aboard."
no electric bill. no gas bill. no taxes. no expenses.
just make the half dozen people that reach that age comfortable for the few years they have left. do what they do in japan, show them respect and give them dignity, and consider them national treasures.
