Does anyone have a review of these cigars that on the "Blowouts" section. Are they worth $19 + shipping?

The site below is the only review I can find. Another site has them listed at 20 bucks for 3 cigars. Fisher

I've smoked several of these and have one in my humidor now ... for me, the answer to your question is yes ... BUT, there are cigars I like that others don't (see, for example, the post on this board about LaPerla Maduros) ... and there are cigars I've bought that I did not like which others rave over ... one of my absolutely favorite smokes is the Onyx Reserve Maduro ... yet, I saw a post on another board recently in which the writer said those were one of the worst cigars he'd ever tried ... bottom line is that the only definitive way I know for you to learn the answer to your question is to buy some and smoke 'em, then tell us what you think ...

Guess what I found in my e-mail this morning? It was a bulletin from another cigar e-supplier, alerting me to a special they're having during the first week of June ... Flor de Los Reyes ... and for "less than $2 per stick" ... guess the question as to whether these are worth the $19 is answered in at least one sense. Hey, they're ok smokes, and for about 90c ea., how you gonna beat it? Maybe I should've bid for two boxes.

They were highly rated in Smokemag. I think it was in the most recent group of reviews, but it was
a Torp.

Smokemag.com reviewed a lonsdale back in '97 and gave it a below average 2.4. You can check out the the review by checking out their website. It may scare me away, but for less than $1 per stick....well at this point, undecided. You figure if CB can find 1000 boxes laying around, it wasn't real popular. Can anyone recommend the cigar?

Flor de los Reyes is made by hand in the Dominican Republic by cigar man Emelio Reyes - brother of Augusto Reyes. These well-constructed cigars look good, have a great draw, burn slow and even, and offer a nice mild and pleasant, unobtrusive taste. Consisting of Cuban-seed Dominican filler and Sumatra wrappers, Flor de los Reyes is a mild yet satisfying smoke. Now aged 4+ years, this is a tremendous value that you won't find anywhere for a price close to this.

Cigarbid rated the Torp in the spring issue. It was quite highly rated. Wonder how this cigar
differs from the Lonsdale (besides size)?

Well....I did a little research. The labels are different. The labels on the picture shown of these on CBID looks amazingly like the lables on Emilio Reyes bundles. They are using the description
of the GOOD cigars rated by Smoke mag. Isn't this in effect FALSE advertising? Or is is plain old
DECEIT?

http://www.smokemag.com/database/display.cgi  The review for the torp with the different band is a 4.2, which CI does not mention.

Correction, the bands are not show for the lonsdale but it would seem to be the same since this is the review quoted by CI. YO SLIM, DO SOME RESEARCH MAGIC HERE!

yeh I bought the 6 pack then found out there was a blowout box. It's a good looking cigar, firm, smokes real well, nice and even, average aroma, mild and only gets a little stronger by the time you get to the last 2 inches of the 7 inch stick. The flavour got a little better as you smoked. Wow. usually you're spitting acid by that time. The box for the 6 pack was the balls. Great construction and shape. Perfect size to take along in he car. So I'm gonna smoke a couple more and then decide if I get a second box of blowouts. I'm kinda leaning toward yes. Don't look at it like "hey, what the hell for 85 cents", think of it as a good deal. Give one to a friend and enjoy.

My 6 pack sampler didn't fare as well. Three were well constructed, and 3 were very shabby.
But I must say they were tasty, smooth, and creamy. Problem however, they did not draw worth a
darn. Luck of the draw?
