You wanna talk blues? How about some Freddie King-The Texas Cannonball. Have you heard Joe Ely's Live CD? The live version of "Gallo del Cielo" is amazing. "Me And Billy The Kid" is another highlight.

Thanks for the recommendation J. I also need to find a version of John Lee Hooker's "Jesse James". Love it!

Diamond Dave! Hell yeah! His music rules. Radio didn't play it because they were paid not too. His music is as tight as anything Van Halen put out after his departure. He always assembled an awesome band where every position had the absolute best of the best. I'd go so far as to say listen to ALL of his stuff and then post back on it. I'm not talking about the stuff that WAS played on the radio either. It's really a shame that Eddie just won't let bygones be bygones, and get on with what should be.

Yup, knew about the best of but don't have it. I seen them live in a small place in Philly in the 80s. Great show....wait....another flashback....

When sitting around the house or in the car, I enjoy a little Raggae. Some Bob Marley, Peter Tosh or Yellowman. I always enjoy the Irish rebel music like Blackthorn, but when I am working out I need to listen to more intense music like Rob Zombie!!

Mr. Mean, since you like Joe Ely, you really need to hear The Flatlanders "Now Again". Great stuff, Joe Ely, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, and Butch Hancock. Highly recommended.

Charlie, you really need to pick up a copy of Freddie King's "Texas Cannonball". I promise you won't regret it. Any of you blues fans heard Shemekia Copeland (daughter of Johnny)? Great stuff!

DrMaddVibe, I haven't confirmed it yet, but someone told me that they saw it them selves (so second hand to you) that Eddie has said OK and everybody is talking... A tour with Dave AND Sammy... Not sure, sounds fishy, but you may want to check out their web page. But I TOTALLY Agree... Yes VH sold more albums without him, but SOLD is the key word... as in Sold OUT. Dave's albums sounded more like VanHalen than their own. And on the first "Sammy" album, Sammy tried (and failed miserably) to do the Dave shrieks and yelps. Give me Diamond Dave (even with his cocky attitude) anyday. And you GOTTA LOVE those covers and crazy songs from the old days... "ICE CREAM MAN" STILL RULES!

Jay, you're the man! Dave sure knew how to make a music video too! The only way I liked Sammy was in Montrose...strick that, the only way I liked Montrose was W/O Sammy!

Bud451: good call on the Joy Division and Bauhaus. "Still" and Bela Lugosis Dead are always in my CD player. Right now, however it is vinyl time with "One Step Beyond" by Madness on the turntable.
