used too.....not too much into it since they split years ago...indy car / cart,,,,,,it ruined it!

Indy is only good if you are at the race.

Went to the Indy 500 a few years back...was a blast!!

i grew up there for awile as a little kid....4 blocks from the track.

i was probably 7-9 when we moved...but i remember the whine of the motors and all the hoopla.

dad got me hooked on watching motorsports at an early age. the Indy 500 and nascar the rest of the time.

i really use to love watching the super figure 8 demolition derby's on the wide world of sports on sunday afternoon!! they "used" to really go at it alot harder than they do nowday's...and the arena was alot bigger than what you can see nowday's!

but i was going up to Indy and watching qualifications before they got rid of the infield party area called "The Snake Pit"!! a real wild area!!!

(that's why they done away with it).

but once cart and indycar split and it was almost all foriegn drivers......kinda lost interest.

it was an era thing for me....us made motors against the foriegn made. but it got to be all foriegn made.

i think that's why i am still into nascar......a motor built here in the usa! once it get's to be all foriegn......i will let it pass as well.

you two sent me nice packages a mark martin bumper sticker...a rusty wallace postcard....which unknowingly..."i collect them"! i have a big binder full of driver postcards/info cards that are given out to fans at the tracks!
