But ,I am a pragmatist, and I believe it really won't matter who occupies the White House anymore. Too many people get too much from the Gov't and not enough people pay taxes for anything to change.

Sure it did. The independents swing an election. Who did the Republicans vote for last time, and afterward say he was no good. Sure the die hards complained, but they still voted for him. The really pissed off people will leave president blank or write someone in, but more will rationalize their vote somehow.

Same is true with most Democratic candidates too. It's the vote for the lesser of two evils. There won't be a third party run that makes a difference this year. Protest votes will be insignificant. Last time it mattered was 20 years ago and a little bit in 2000 as Nader drew away votes from Gore in Florida.

I don't doubt that you do, that's a standard conservative line of thinking. Just like I think there are more religious voters voting for candidates that pander to them instead of actual actions. There are liberals who have no interest in maintaining the status quo too. Occupy movement shows this in one example. The Nader runs another. There is no party label on single issue voting and ignorance of the issues. Hell, I read wrong 'facts' on this board constantly that if used to make a decision (which they aren't) would effect their choice if they didn't believe all the sh*t said about the other party.

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one, Fuzz, because the independent and libertarian folk abandoned the GOP in droves with the aforementioned failed Republican candidates. Many of my buds went with Perot rather than stay with a couple of doddering old, middle of the road, milquetoasts like Bush Sr. & Dole. And when you have Eisenhower kin come forward & endorse Obama instead of McLame... sorry, but you'll have to connect the dots... LOL!!
