i didn't mean to ignore you, i just had bigger fish to fry.
"In Sadam's world, if your opinion is not his opinion, your dead." i agree. but i don't think we live in his world. let his own people do something if they want. he isn't bothering anyone outside his sphere of influence.

" I assume the way you write, your not a republican."
or a democrat. is it really necessary to identify with one of those parties to have an opinion?

yes, my fellow poster, the republicans have an agenda. it appears the democrats have one also. i believe it is called get reelected so i don't have to get a real job.

I hate to say it, but I dislike both political parties. I don't think that the republicans have any right to tell anyone that they can't have an abortion. I don't think that the democrats have any right to take away my guns. I don't think that drilling for oil in the arctic is the answer, but welfare and coddlig of those too lazy to work are not the answers either.

Rick, maybe you didn't vote for Saddam as humanitarian of the year, but you did say: "i believe saddam hasen't bothered anyone since the gulf war and doesn't have any plans to. why should he? he has everything he wants. why would he want to start trouble that would come back to haunt him."

As for my religious views affecting my thoughts concerning the unborn, please know this:
I have always thought of abortions as wrong, but also as "none of my business" because I am male. Until that day just over 6 years ago when I saw the early ultrasonic photos of my first born. She was only 10 weeks old, but she was human. She was simply unborn, she was not a "choice". The choice would have had to come 10 weeks prior. Abortion is simply another way to dodge responsiblity, so it's no wonder that it is a Liberal issue.
My views are my own. I don't suggest that everybody felt the joy that I felt. But I don't see how desensitizing the nation about what abortion truly is can do any good. It is the stilling of a beating heart. That isn't a religious viewpoint, it's a fact.

Do not lump all anti-abortion views with those that are based on religion or hypocracy (doctor killers). You know damn well that MOST anti-abortion folks are against senseless murder.
It's OK to have a viewpoint on abortion that differs from mine. Just don't use lies, half-truths and innuendo to justify your point, unless you feel you have to.

I checked out Ricks link above.
He's right. We should be worried.
But it may not be as bad as it sounds.
Chances are the FBI, CIA and other secret government organizations already have this info on folks they want to investigate. This bill would most likely just be a way to make the evidence OK to convict somebody with, since even a bad lawyer could get most cases thrown out if it were based on evidence collected illegally.
It does, however, appear to be a bit much.

My God Rick,

Which rock are you living under. We share this world, with all the little Sadams in it.

I have friends and associates in the Middle East, Europe, Asia, Australia, ect., When India and Pakistan was threatening to nuke each other, I was actively involve in their securities markets. The people I had contact with, were afraid for their lives. It was the few dumb-ass dictators and their agendas that was causing the threat, not them.

You must be a much younger man than I am, I too disagreed with Vietnam, but, not because we didn't belong there, but because we did a spinless half ass job. It was a waste of life with no beneficial result to mankind. With Sadam we have the tenacity to follow through, with the purpose to make this a safer world.

Maybe you should research other people in the past that shared your similar veiws. For example, Lindberg, he, like his father, (a congressman), was against our involvement in Foreign Wars, (it was none of our business), but, later after realizing how evil Hitler and his administration was, Lindberg spent the rest of his life trying to amend his error in thinking, with the american people.

I love cigars and my other hobby is world/american history. Maybe before you opinionate, you should do some research and develope a basis for you knee jerk thoughts. I have children and grand-children, I thus far have enjoy, (thanks to being an American), a good life, but, I fear for the world with the Sadams in it that they have to live with.

Regardless of our party affiliation, we are all Americans. Rick, is this not, (as Johnson said)the beauty of our "Great Society" ?? We are blessed, we are the envy of the world, because, we have what every common person in this world wishes they had.

yes i did say that about saddam. i miss your point.

"lies, half-truths and innuendo" where, when, what?
i don't have a different viewpoint from you. I AM NOT IN FAVOR OF ABORTIONS.

women have, have always had, and will continue to have abortions. they will have them under a doctors care, or they will have them with a coat hanger.

"I too disagreed with Vietnam, but, not because we didn't belong there" why did we belong there?

"It was a waste of life with no beneficial result to mankind" 50,000 dead is not a waste it is a tragedy, a disgusting destruction of people, and young kids at that. the result to mankind is the continued proof that we are led by savages and we follow like sheep.

dob 8/15/32. am i the youngerest (see a different post re the "est".)?

RICKAMAVEN,
I would like to ask a question if I may...What are your thoughts on John F. Kennedy and the Cuban missile crisis?
I ask because Saddam Hussein is as real a threat to the United States, and the world, as those missiles were then.
We live in a "global" society now, and are not the only military power with global-reach capability. Saddam Hussein is developing this capability to deliver weapons of mass destruction as he sees fit. Do we wait until he can?
You mentioned that 50,000+ dead is a tragedy, and a disgusting destruction of people. I agree! That is why I will not sit still and let Hussein kill indiscriminately until he reaches, or surpasses 50,000. Do you advocate that it doesn't matter unless/until American sons and daughters are dying?

One of the articles you posted addressed a bill, which gives deefense agencies the authority to "eaves-drop" to obtain/confirm evidence. Do you really think they can't do this already???

I know that as a country we have many problems. Foremost in my mind is housing and feeding our homeless. I volunteer two weekends a month to this cause. And I only mention this because I belive that anyone can point out what's broken, or wrong. It takes focused, committed people to fix, or make it right.

Regards,
Tom

Excellent example, too bad Rick won't answer. He just flies stuff out, if anyone questions it, he can't reply, because it didn't know what he was talking about to begin with.

Rick,
In order:
Lies - Antiabortion folks support murder.

Half truths - Because of your religion you believe a fetus is an unborn child. I cleared this up earlier.

Innuendo - You compare abortion to birth control and condom distribution.

We should not desensitize Americans to what Abortion really is.

what in the hell are you talking about.

"Antiabortion folks support murder" well those did that considered the man that murdered the doctor a hero. and that is the problem with zealots.

" You compare abortion to birth control and condom distribution" no i don't or didn't.

"We should not desensitize Americans to what Abortion really is." who is we? what is abortion all about?

the bubba minsa about seeing your child in the womb is all very touching, but some people can't afford ultra sound, or doctors, or any of the niceties some of us have. should they use birth control, or stop having sex?

Hello All,

I think we need to let this post die with Rick. This is a waster of energy, besides Rick seems to want to "fry fish" instead of having a intelligent debate.

I'm out of here. Got some nice deals to bid on.

i guess CulleyJC52 is on demand feeding and requires an answer when he wants an answer.

"I ask because Saddam Hussein is as real a threat to the United States, and the world, as those missiles were then" not even close. you are trying to compare the super power russia with missiles 90 miles from our shores to a 2 bit dictator. who says he is as big a threat, the bush people?

"weapons of mass destruction" is a recently made up catch phrase. i can't remember the phrase ever being used except regarding saddam. if he was such a threat, why didn't bush's old man take him out.

"That is why I will not sit still and let Hussein kill indiscriminately until he reaches, or surpasses 50,000." first, you have no idea what is going on in iraq other then what you read in the us papers. try reading information that is different from fox, cnn, and all the local stations that repeat the same thing over and over. your info is from media which is obviously bush biased.

"Do you really think they can't do this already? of course the government can eaves-drop now. the difference is the depth of the data base, which will include everything except gun ownership. i am not against guns, i own two hand guns. what business is the government's if i go to my doctor for an eye examination, or a flu shot. maybe you don't remember the time when what we did was our own business, not the business of the government, which really means a bunch of politicians.

RICKAMAVEN,

I used to read your posts with anticipation of, at the least, a uniquely different perspective.
But to tell me I don't know what's going on in Iraq, except what I read in American newspapers is a real joke.
The "daily news" I read you can't even access.

Please vent your anti-American hatred somewhere else!

i hope have not said anything that would offend you personally. if i have offended your opinions, that's not the same thing.

if you have access to other material and are better informed than i am, so be it. i am only informed with what i have access to, and can only deal with that.

when whatever happens, happens, i wish you nothing but the best of luck.
