So I had an idea today. Not sure if this has ever been done or if it would even work or what not, but here goes. I was thinking it could be fun to do a blind trade with someone. It would be three cigars: one high price, one average, and one cheapy. All the bands would be removed and the cigars would be rebanded or put in seperate bags with a 1, 2, 3 on them. Trade the stoagies with someone and have a set time of, say, a month to smoke all three. After the time limit, or whenever both parties have smoked all three, you give your reviews of the three cigars and which numbered cigar was the high price, medium price, and cheapy (and even a guess at what the exact cigar was if you think you know it). I'm thinking to do this all the cigars should be the same size profile, but wouldn't absolutely have to be. Any thoughts on if this would work or if it would even be fun?

This has been done several times here and probably still goes on time to time.

Start one and have fun with it.

CC's would be fun as well, but I wouldn't be able to play in that round. I was thinking price points of $0-5 for cheap, $5-10 for medium, and $10+ for high. I knew blind taste tests were done, but I didnt hear about anything like this. I think it would be interesting in that you may think the cheap smoke is the high end or whatnot. Oh and all prices would be MSRP, not what you won them for on here. With all the overbidders, that coule get confusing! [frypan]

Thanks Tom. PMS. I really appreciate your offer. I've kind of retired from the blind reviews (work and weather), but it was fun. Yes, Lou sent the same 5 different sticks to the reviewers and posted each when all had emailed him the reviews. Thanks again for he offer (and to critter for the complement). These are fun and I'm sure there will be a lot of interest.....good luck! I will be reading them with interest.....

Tom, I will pair up with campage to do your blind taste trade if no one else has stepped up. Since he has established a reputation as a mooch here, self-inflicted, I'm afraid this idea will come to a screeching halt if someone doesn't sacrifice for the greater good and partner up with him. To make sure I've got this right, campage and I will swap three unbanded cigars, one cheapy <$5, one mid-priced $5-10, and one top shelf >$10. We'll smoke them, post reviews, rank them and try to guess what they are. Do I have this right?

actually critter is sending me five cigars through the range of prices i mentioned, so i was going to do the same to campage. id say nothing over $15 msrp. maybe one cheap, three midrange, and one "exclusive", but you can be the judge on your stash and/or finances.

I know, busa, but some times you gotta take a chance...

OK, I'll take campage's 5 blind taste cigars, one <$5, 3 mid range $5-10, and one >$10. I'll send him my addy.

Anybody interested in receiving my unbanded 5'er?
