I don't get it or I don't understand.
I was a big fan of the Perique tobacco when I rolled my own cigarettes, and it appears to be popular with pipe tobacco. It's an old method of curing tobacco in hickory whiskey barrels. Heck, the brewery down the road serves a vanilla porter aged in oak whiskey barrels and the brew is awesome… hick!
IMHO the fired cured tobaccos offer a taste to another old method. Aren't many pipe tobaccos, chewing tobaccos, and snuff fire cured? If you like bacon, jerky, or any other kind of smoked (fire-cured) fish, beef, pork, or poultry, how can this not sound interesting?
IMHO these are not Acids or "infused" cigars. I don't believe it's a gimmick. I found the Leccia Black a very tasty cigar and do consider a box. I think it would be interesting to see how a fire-cured cigar will age. The longer jerky smokes the better?!?!
Just my 2¢. I'd like to give them a try.
PS. Did i mention the brewery… hick!
