... The first thing people should do when faced with something like this is ask themselves why a plaque which has been in place since 1909 is suddenly a news story for them?
Context is everything.

so they should just let it go..?? even tho it's wrong..?? When people think of Lincoln, right or wrong, he's credited with freeing the slaves... why do they want the Democrats to take the credit for that..?? 😕

Sorry.
Jesus was known for his "boot strap lecture" and cries to deregulate the banking industry.
And he would have NEVER backed giving away healthcare . . . . Especially to the poor.
No way this guy was a liberal.
People have blamed bush for a lot of things, but the Ten Commandments??????

He's doomed to be reincarnated as Fuzz
But it isn't wrong within the context of the original plaque. The term "democrat" has two meanings, the plaque is clearly referencing the primary meaning: "an advocate or supporter of democracy".
If you have a problem with it, change the Republican party name to something with another meaning.
This is a whole lot of noise about absolutely nothing.

then they should clarify it with a second plaque... I know you see the problem here... 🤐
Are you seriously advocating a second plaque? What do you think the possible impact of this plaque in an Illinois university? You wouldn't even know about its existence if some other individual with a poor grasp of the English language complained about it loudly enough to make a news story.
