I was wondering why I hadn't heard of the jd4... It's still unreleased. But reading about it makes me really want to get my hands on one.

From what I remember of the ones I smoked, it was a stronger, fuller bodied T52.

Think of the T52 as drip coffee. Think of the JD4/MF4/UF4 as an Americano coffee (espresso with hot water added)

And I'm paraphrasing from an article I read this morning so I take no credit in this. "The jd4 started out as the T52-4 while the milder T52-3 blend was chosen as the release T52 blend. Jonathan Drew was still smoking and giving away a lot of the jd4s, he didn't like having a cigar using his initials so it was changed to the MF-4 with the MF standing for what you think does. Upon noticing that my father cigars all had a small MF on the bands the MF was changed to UF so as to not copy My Father cigars."
