MACS

Went from fight of the decade to letdown of a decade real fast there.

For all of us Pacquiao fans, yeah. I watched every round, and Floyd won fairly. He held, and ran, but he did enough to win the fight.

I don't even watch boxing and I knew how this fight was going to go. Boxing is no longer entertaining unless you are a die hard fan. MMA is where it is at if you want to see a fight anymore.

there have been exceptions over the years, but for the most part and more so now, boxing is about the heavyweights...one of the biggest reasons the sport is not so popular these days.

Well, that and new public awareness (thanks NFLPA) about head injuries. No longer considered adorable to be "punch drunk".

Yep. Seems like lots of people out there are commenting today on how the fight was "boring". I have to wonder if they've ever seen Mayweather fight before.

Well ive always had an appreciation for good technique, like the fight with the Ukrainian boxer was fantastic. I used to box growing up and I still practice for exercise now and I would still pick boxing over mma any day. Mma is just too sloppy for me.

MMA sucks! If I want to watch a couple of men wrestle around on the floor hugging each other, I'll visit Jamie and his van down by the river. Would rather watch traditional kick-boxing or martial art matches, than what's nothing more than a street fight made for TV.

Boxing is still suffering from the damage caused by Don King and the other crooks before him. The Fly & Lightweight fights IMHO are more entertaining than the Heavyweights. They're fast with a ton of punches compared to the HW's that stand in the center of the ring hugging each other. What boxing needs is another "Tyson" phenomena. Pac is nothing more than a money-grabbing sham.

Why would they need another Tyson...because he knocked people out and did it viciously. That is what the MMA offers for the most part. Sure you get a wrestling match once in awhile but sometimes that wrestling around ends up in a nasty submission. That is why Tyson was popular because he hurt people not because he was a great boxer.

Tyson was one of the best inside fighters in history. One of the only boxers that could floor someone with a six inch hook...

doesn't make him a great inside fighter just meant he had incredible knockout power. To be honest I don't know if Tyson was a great boxer but it seemed to me whenever he got into a boxing match where he couldn't knock the guy out he lost. But my point was everyone watched him for the KO not to see him win a decision.

Knocking someone out has just as much to do with technique as it does with power. Can't land a bomb if you don't have a good delivery system. Now I'm not saying tyson was anywhere near the best boxer ever, but for an inside fighter, which is getting very rare in heavyweights now, he was pretty top notch.

Boxing blows!! Don't waste your money this fight will go the distance with neither fighter landing any punches for power.

Floyd ran like the man was chasing him with a domestic abuse charge...if you think MMA is sloppy then you never wrestled. I tried playing "king of the mat" with Les Gutches my freshman year. I was the only one brave (dumb) enough to go back for more punishment. My fastest 2 leg takedown shoot I ever made and I got ragdolled, never enjoyed getting my azz whooped that much in my life.

Love boxing too, but they've isolated the sport with lousy matches and pay per view exclusives. I miss USA networks fight night, loved watching that every week when I was younger. I agree with cacman about King, but not about the van part. Never leave DNA IN the van.

I wrestled state in high school. I don't think the grappling in mma is sloppy, I think the stand up is. All of them are just hoping for homeruns.

You know some of them have won golden gloves right?

Not saying their level is even but there is some good "boxing" not just striking.

Ever since studies about getting hit I the head too much makes you We Tall Did.

And after seeing Foreman and Tyson loose their marbles. Boxing is more about stamina and points. Everybody is skeered to get hit.

I will never PAY to watch another "FIGHT". The only ones who lose are the ones who pay to watch boxing. 🌫
