I would have been pissed too.


But my perspective comes from where I live. So of course I'm biased. But don't ask my opinion, and then tell me I'm wrong.

Fighting the guy is a gamble with no upside. What could you gain other than a brief moment of satisfaction. The downside is HUGE. he could rally his homeless buds. He could stalk your girlfriend. The list goes on and on.

I hate the dog was harmed but putting myself or girlfriend at risk seems like a poor choice.

Again, the scariest people are the ones that don't care what happens to them. I question if this guy fears any consequences.

But, I would have called the law and let them deal with it.

The homeless in our neighborhood are a different case. They don't pick up their sh$t (I'm not kidding, there is a map tracking how much human sh$t is left on the streets of SF, and I live on the border of sh%tsville.) They tip trash cans over and leave it strewn everywhere. They jam parking meters daily to be able to take the quarters out. They trash cars for no purpose... This is the 4th incident involving the gf (she does now keep mace in the pocket of the jacket she normally uses now). But the others have been relatively "harmless"... yelling, or shoving her.

You put yourself in danger over a dog - over a domestic animal that's easily replaced - all to impress a female (POA). Probably would have been the best meal he had in a while. Not that I condone harming animals, but the only way to stop the problem with the homeless is to report the problem, not to take things into your own hands. What if he comes back Mr. Vigilante?
