fan can be blowing outside but if the compressor doesn't kick on there's an issue... could just be getting 110 instead of 220, or it's fried... of just a capacitor... could be a dozen things.. 😟

Hopefully I'll have a diagnosis and solution in place today. With as hot as it's been here, all the AC folks are a little backed up.

I'd go drink all my neighbors beer until the repair guys get there... 🍺

And don't bother with a window unit under 8,000 BTU.

Mike, probably a little far to drive, but I appreciate the offer. And our house is an odd set up from a window perspective, all floor to ceiling and the only ones that open are in the master bath. And those are way too narrow to house a decent unit.

I'm storing smokes at a friends house until it's resolved. Hoping today, but I have my doubts. I may be racking up some Marriott rewards points.

Can't you just climb up into a nice shady tree?

I wouldn't worry too much, cigars go through more extreme conditions just getting from the factory to the US and in the back of UPS trucks when being shipped from the distributor to the vendor and then the vendor to you than they will experience in a few days without A/C.

You can wall mount an AC or get one of those portable ones.

I have one of those portable ones that Mr. Monkey could borrow.

Got a whole new A/C and new ductwork (very important to check condition) and I can say after 3 years I have paid for it in energy savings.

Smoke Monkey,

You can always store them at my place if you need. And yes I am serious. You are not far away.

If you need HVAC help shoot me a PM. I work for a major GC and have friends who can help you if you need.

Well, looks likely it will require a new unit, but we're pricing compressors. Spending the evening in the lap of Marriott luxury. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

Thanks for the offer, Eric. I moved them to a buddy's house earlier to ride it out. If something happens with them, I'll pm you.

There is a gentleman installing a new unit as I type this. Should be up and running late this afternoon, barring catastrophe.

Thanks for checking back!

Glad you were able to get it repaired and running before the weekend. Too hot to try and stick it out at home without the AC working.

No doubt! They should be finishing up shortly (I hope).
