Apparently a little buzz about them at the show down in new Orleans... Supposed to be the first Peruvian puro on the market... The shop is carrying them now so I figured I should try one if I'm going to try and move them... About an inch in and not terrifically impressed... Very mild so far with a strange bite to it...

The bite may be from Inca sacrificial knives. Cut one up and look for blade shards.

Did it get any better? Hope the shop owner lets you try new products for free. All employees should offer the help free products to try. This way they can sell it to the customer, by knowing the product first hand.

If you told me you tried it and backed it up with some description I would be more likely to buy it.

Did you like it after the first part?

If not, it's gonna be tough to move them if you're in the store and a customer asks. If they just walk up to the counter with a handful, you don't have to say anything, right?

It was definitely a freebie... The owner and his son encourage me to try everything we carry at least once...

For a very mild cigar, it wasn't bad... For the price, there are lots more I would recommend... It's more expensive than a My Father Connecticut by a couple of bucks, so that makes it a "don't buy" in my book... If someone is looking for a unique, mild cigar, I'll point it out... The size - 6x60 - was probably at least partially why I didn't enjoy it much...

Chaz - what you've stated is completely accurate.... If I haven't tried something we carry, I can't recommend it... When I walk someone through the humidor, I start with my personal favorites and do my best to describe what makes those cigars good... Usually I'm pushing My Father cigars, or if they're looking for something cheaper, Alec Bradley... I can recommend these because I've smoked them and enjoy them...

If I recommend something I don't personally enjoy, I'll probably get caught in my lie the next time they come in... People at the shop tend to take my recommendations because I'm truthful.... And if I recommend something to someone and they come back and didn't enjoy it, I usually set them up with something else at a discount...
