I couldn't decide what to light up this morning. While picking thru my stash, I came across a familiar band, Puros Indios. Now I know there is very little love here for these, in fact, I don't think I've seen anything but disdain. Somebody must like them, they've been made for years and continue to be rolled. Years ago I used to smoke these, then moved on to cigars I liked better. I haven't smoked one in a long time.

Well, it was as I remembered. Mild body, light in flavor. It was slightly fruity, with a citrus note, and mild spice. Not complex, the taste didn't change throughout the smoke.

Was it a bad cigar? To me, no, a bad cigar is one poorly constructed. Not liking the flavor doesn't make it bad, just not for me. It was well constructed and burned evenly with plenty of smoke. It's not a cigar I'm going to add to my humi, but I'll smoke one with you if you give me one.

One of the best cigars I've ever had was a Puros Indios, but it was as much as the company and location (after supper at the Counter-IED task force in Afghanistan with some longtime EOD buddies) as the quality of the tobacco and complexity of the flavors.

But you said it well-just because a cigar isn't for me doesn't mean it's a "bad" cigar. I've had some $10+ cigars I wouldn't smoke again, and kind of like some of the CBID dollar a smoke cigars.

Those were all 'Bro's. He offered me good cigars, then called me a mooch. Well, it might have something to do with all the micro-brews, scotch, and bourbon I drank while I was there.

Of course, I brought in a top shelf selection for the drive home and celebrating a back spasm finally letting go so I can ride the motorcycle again tomorrow.

Tough choices:

LP Dirty Rat (NH)
LP Papas Fritas (NH-want to see what the fuss is all about)
Tatuaje 10 year Bon Chasseur

Leaning toward the Papas Fritas and saving the Dirty Rat for when I'm not driving

Puros Indios in the early 90's during the boom. THOSE were good cigars.
The more recent versions should embarrass old man Reyes.

I have about 200 of them stored and aging from 2008.
Tuck might have on 1 of them if he kept the Moose Manor herf cigars I handed out labeled Cat Rockets
