I called him out once or twice on the boards and he was always quick to PM to say it was in jest. Another time I recall in particular, he seemed really down and I PM'ed him to offer some help or if he just needed to talk. He said he was fine - like the true Texan he was, always willing to help another but slow to accept any assistance from others. They broke the mold when that made that character. One of a kind.

Bumping this because I did not know. I guess I was off this board for a while. Learning about jack’s passing yesterday was bad enough. I’m in a low funk, now. Geez. I last talked to Bill a couple of years ago. I called and wished him a Merry Christmas. Every now and then “wheelrite” will pop-up in my phone contacts & I always wondered about him. It’s a double sad day for me. I really hate to hear of his passing. I guess we all had the Love/Hate Brother thing for him. I had a missed-connection with him in Dallas once. We talked on the phone every so often. I really liked him a lot.

The only time I got mad at wheel is when he didn’t feel comfortable enough to tell me about him and drafter being lovers. I don’t judge and it hurt my feelings he thought I would.

Kidding aside I think about wheel every time I wear the shirt he asked nick predomo to send me. It always makes me smile.
