I haven't been around here much lately. Life has a habit of finding new methods of getting in the way. But its good to know I can come back to this place like family and know what to expect from the great BOTL here. Life this last week and hal half has been particularly challenging. . .

Many of you may reember me posting about my oldest son Alex and his -Eagle project of building a shed. (Happy to say that's done!!) Well Alex went to Dr for Flu on the 11th, but before he could get to the Dr's office his rt elbow began to swell. Doc diagnosed he did indeed have influenza, but was much more concerned about the elbow. Sent him to the ER. Turns out he developed a Strep A iinfection in the soft tissue of his elbow.

I first want to sing God's praises. Because of the timing with the flu and the quick actions and attentions of the dr's he was able to get surgery to drain the infection and the right antibiotics to fight it. We are very blessed that the infection only got to the soft tissue and not in the skin or blood - as both of those could have been much worse. We are truly blessed to have been where we were and to have the access to care that he needed. Alex says he doesn't feel lucky, and after thought I have to agree. He was very unlucky to get this kind of infection from what started as a simple "rug burn" off of a trampoline. He is very blessed though to receive the attention and healing that he did.

Which brings me to the 2nd part of the headline. We still need prayers. He's home from the hospital, but hes still on a strict regiment of antibiotics and the surgical wound is still open for healing. Continued prayers for his healing and full recovery will be very powerful for him. And I know that I can count on some prayer warriors here to aid us in that task.

I am also thankful to have a group of BOTL that I can share this with as at least for me just sharing and knowing the blessings we have seen is very therapeutic.

Glad to be home today sitting on the porch with a tat black and able to share our story

I remember reading the post about when Alex was doing that project. It was one of the first few post I had read when first I signed up here and thinking how awesome it is for a young man to be involved in such and how proud his dad seemed to be. It did my heart well.

I seen this post yesterday and my prayers went up then and now going up a second time. As a parent I know how how helpful just the therapeutic aspect can be. Being a believer even more so.

If you could I would greatly appreciate an update on his well being from time to time. I like to keep my prayer journal updated its just a personal thing.

I'm glad he's on the path to recovery. PT&P's that he continues to improve every day. Infections suck! 🙏
