I dont inhale cigar smoke myself but know that some do. I read that when you dont inhale you actually taste more of the cigars flavor. What about You Guys or Gals. Mag

I also heard that if you smoke cigarettes you are more likely to inhale cigar smoke too. Mag

I used to smoke cigarettes, quit about 5 years ago now, and when I first started cigars I would inhale. I don't any more and I find that enjoy them more now. When I inhaled, I felt more like I was holding my breath and it seemed like more work.

I also have never gotten a buzz from a cigar as many folks here have mentioned. I wonder if this has anything to do with having been a cigarette smoker?

As the tag on new car windows says about the anticipated fuel economy ... "your mileage may vary"

Tell you what ... pick up a Joya de Nicaragua Antano and give it a whirl ... if you don't get a "buzz" from that one, you might never find one that'll do the trick ...

Try a Camacho Corojo toro on an empty stomach. That will do it...

Mag, If you are looking for flavor slightly inhale a puff and exhale through your nose. That is when you may get some extra flavors. When I try a new cigar I try this at least once. On some stronger ones I regret it cause I can't slightly inhale.

What Steve said if you want a buzz. Either that or roll your own LOL.
I'm an ex cigarette smoker but I do not "inhale" cigars. I get a little nose hit though because to me that is where a lot of the flavors are. I get more appreciation of the subtle flavors. Just MHO.

GYO ... I do that same thing plus, I also sometimes do what is called "French inhaling" ... take a big puff, let the smoke out my mouth, inhale through my nose, but not into my lungs, then back out through the mouth ... it takes quite a bit of practice to be able to do that without getting a lungful, but it sure adds to the "buzz" potential ...

I guess I would say I inhale a little, but nothing like a rette smoker. I take the smoke into the mouth and then out throught the nose without actually inhaling. Sometimes I also do a kind of cheap french inhale bacause I can't figure that one out. I take the smoke into the mouth, let it come out slowly and then inhale into the nose. On milder cigars that tends to really add to the flavor.

Either way, sometimes I get a buzz just from keeping the cigar in my mouth for a long time.

As for getting a "buzz" see the "Clean Smoke" by Dan Cross on the picture post.
Think he inhales?

i've gotten many a buzz in the short while i've been smoking. but i never smoked cigarettes. and i would agree about the camacho... holy cow! my question is, has any one else found they could avoid or at least diminish the buzz by simply smoking the stick slower?

bayou-
yep. smoking slow diminishes the buzz and increases the flavor of the cigar. also have one of them camachos or antanos after a big, heavy meal. that helps a lot.

I don't inhale but as BMW suggested, run some of that smoke past the sniffer slowly; makes a big difference. And on the Camacho (Diploma), it helps if you smoke it on a full stomach; nice smoke and in my top 3.

would - thanks for the suggestion. first time i smoked a camacho was on poker night. i had to leave the table and i actually hurled. damn fine cigar. i've had several since.

antanos... hmmm never even heard of that one. i'll have to check into it.

Did you lose the hand while you were hurling?
Try a sun grown chateau fuente double corona. If you don't take a long nap after that smoke you're a better man than I.

I've tried the Fuente sungrowns too ... but for me, the absolute cigar "buzz" of all time came from the 6x54 Joya de Nicaragua Antano Belicoso ... I bought two and still have the second aging in the humidor ... clearly, IMHO, THE definitive full-stomach-and-have-a-cool-drink-handy cigar in all my years of smoking ...
