🤦 New Guy

My name is Ross. I'm new to CBID and the Cigar game. I'm trying a bit of everything. So far I've liked the RP vintage 1990, CAO Gearhead. I really like the Short Stories and Papa Fritas because I rarely have enough time to enjoy full sized Cigars. My favorite so far is probably the Oliva V Malanio. I really want to try the Feral Pig.

I have a 50 gar humidor. Its already not enough so I'm looking into tuppidores.

I've done some light bidding on here and I have watched probably 100 bids so far to watch prices. Im not one to get in a bidding war. Im here for deals not competition.
🐓

Any recommendations or advice is appreciated and thank ya'll for all the info in the beginners post.

I didn't know what to put in an intro. So let the fun begin.

If you like the smaller cigars, look for My Uzi Weighs A Ton Baitfish. Aka MUWAT Baitfaish. Five pack comes in a brown paper bag type wrapper. Definitely one of my favorite short smokes.

Welcome to the site.

Aloha New Guy! Welcome from Hawaii. šŸ‘

Stinger and Delta have suggested a couple of my top choices for short smokes so let me add:

Oliva Serie G Special G - like the Fuente Short Story, comes in either a Cameroon or Maduro wrapper
RoMa Craft Intemperance Whiskey Rebellion 1794 Hamilton - after 6+ months of rest / nap time, these are tasty
Tatuaje Petite Tatuaje - 20-30 minute smoke in either Habano or Connecticut Broadleaf

There are also a whole bunch of petite coronas from Cuba but that’s a whole ā€˜nother discussion for another time.

Btw, pancakes or waffles?

I'll address this one.........Most of the HTF and $12-15 sleeper bottles are in Kentucky.Which leads me to my question.Where do you live?I'm looking for my Kentucky connection.

BTW one of my favorite short sticks is El Triunfador petit coronas......they age extremely well.

I'm too far south, I'm in Florida.
Thanks for all the recommendations.
I've already caught some of the "insightful" links.
I prefer waffled pancakes.

Skip the tupperdor and go straight for the coolerdor.

Sounds good. I'll look at that instead. Is it me or are there a bunch of distributors in here? I'm seeing some crazy volume buys.

Or if you like slightly larger cigars, try the MUWAT Nightcrawler at 4.5x50 (often called the "Rothschild" vitola). Drew Estate specifically designed it to be a Baitfish that lasts longer. They come packaged in a brown paper bag of 10.

I prefer the longer smoking time of the Nightcrawler to the Baitfish, which tends to end right as I'm really getting into it and wanting more. Reportedly, the Nightcrawler was created because a whole lot of people told Drew this and asked for a slightly larger Baitfish.

Reportedly the Baitfish and Nightcrawler share a blend (which you'd expect if one's a larger version of the other), but that blend is significantly different from what the rest of the MUWAT line (all the larger vitolas) use.

Also keep in mind that MUWAT get a lot better with age (hence the nickname "MU-WAIT"). If you like them, consider buying a lot of them and sitting on most of them for a long time and you'll be a happy camper.

^ nice, thank you.

I've got a few noob questions.

1st How do I try and get a Vet so i can avoid some of the embarrassment ahead?

2nd Just got my first delivery and they are hot as hell. Should I be worried about beetles? Wondering if people freeze their deliveries?

3rd Is it time to stop using this into as a FAQ?

I've tried searching threads for these questions.

Welcome fellow Noob! Hopefully you find some great smokes, if you like the darker side, hit me up, I love anything that’s darker than a Habano wrapper.

Also, as for your question on being worried about beetles, I have a smaller 50 gar humidor that I put my newest editions into. They remain there for up to 3 months before being moved to my bigger humidor.
