I used to scratch build wooden sailing ships. Once you get focus it's amazing the lengths you will go to to get the slightest detail right. It really teaches patience. It can take a week to fashion one little tiny piece most people wouldn't look at for 2 seconds but YOU know it's there. Can also lead you to obsess a bit if you aren't careful. But, it's really relaxing too.
