I cannot watch 16 months of this, and I'm a long-time news junkie. Call me when the candidate list gets under a hundred.
As for Biden, I have a lot of respect for his years of service, including during unimaginably difficult personal times of tragedy in his family. However, he might have had a better chance if he'd just kept quiet the entire campaign. Skip the debates, don't do interviews. He was getting by largely on name recognition, but much like Trump, every time he opens his mouth, I just think "please take grampa's car keys away from him before someone gets hurt." He had to try to save his own campaign after Kamala Harris tapdanced all over his forehead in one debate (I've seen and read the highlights, and whatever you think of her, she pwned Joe on the stage). It is never, ever a good sign when you have to go try to finish your arguments in a debate the day after the debate.
Joe was on very friendly grounds in Seattle at a couple private fundraisers yesterday, including one hosted by a person the Seattle media identifies as a well-known gay activist, and on the eve of the city's 45th annual pride parade. Joe apparently said that if people had made a homophobic reference 5 years ago to a "gay waiter", no one would have objected. Jesus, Seattle is usually listed as second-friendliest towards the LGBTQ community in the country in most polls. Seattle currently has a lesbian mayor. The previous mayor, who actually was in office 5 years ago, is a man who is married to another man. While gay people don't have it easy in dealing with every single person in Seattle, if you can't find a way to be comfortable as a gay person in Seattle, it's likely because you either cannot afford the housing, or you're just an impossibly difficult person. The city has, for many years, been super protective of LGBTQ rights, even before the state or parts of the country opened up more to those in the gay community. Fer cryin' out loud, Gomer Pyle (Jim Nabors) married his long-time male partner in Seattle.
Joe is looking and sounding about as relevant current as a polyester leisure suit with a turtle neck sweater, driving a 1976 Camaro. Someone please get him a rocking chair and a porch. If he becomes the Democratic candidate in the general election, we get four more years of Captain Dumbass and HIS random Grammerrr, misspellings, idiocy on every possible scale, and Random Acts of capitalization and Punkshuasian!!!!!!!!!!! Meanwhile, China and Russia quietly fill the vacuum left by the Commander in Grief whose only foreign policy skills seem to be piss off our friends, revel in the attention and flattery of the world's worst dictators and autocrats, tariff everyone, cage kids, overtax the 99%, fail to understand just who pays tarrifs, jack up the federal deficit about a trillion dollars a year so he can pick fights and send military to places he claims to not want to fight, and having to double the HR staff at the WH just to handle the paperwork on incoming and outgoing Secretaries of Defense, State, and HHS, plus NSA, the AG, etc., then claim it is all either Obama's doing and/or the fault of the Democrats aka "the other side".
Oh, and Joe? We get it. You know Obama. We already kinda assumed that from being his VP for 8 years and the hundreds of pics you took together. It's like Oliver Hardy dropping Stan Laurel's name. Enough already.
