So apparently Nike is recalling sneakers already shipped out to stores. The 4th of July sneakers bear the old flag of the republic, with the circle of 13 stars. Colin Kaepernick (a Nike employee) reportedly said they were offensive because of the flag's ties to America's era of slavery. Arizona's governor went on social media, bemoaned Nike's decision, then went further and said the state is pulling about a million dollars of corporate welfare for locating a manufacturing site in Arizona.

Now I have no idea what to wear to the president's banana republic military parade, which is a shame, as he has promised to have Sherman tanks there, and those things were decommissioned before I was even born.

Really...I don't even know where to start with this one, so I'll just say:

Happy 243rd Birthday, America!

^^^^^ I'd quote TT that everyone's a little gay some times, but (a) that's not true, and (b) I would invite even more abuse than I already do. No need to shoot my own feet. I have plenty of help.

Probably so... But it's gonna backfire... Cuz I guarantee someone - probably many someone's - are about to make a bunch of money off that flag...

All Nike did was identify another one of Colon Kapernack's many triggers... And you can be sure there are plenty of people willing to exploit that...
