My Cabinet once held about 1000 Havanas. Might have 150 now if I'm lucky.

Just spending my disposable income on fishing/boating and not really smoking a lot unless I'm fishing/boating.

Frank did you really lose the ability to detect the nuances of different cigars, taste is tantamount to enjoying a stogie.

I think what was happening was that I was smoking so much more often than I really wanted that I found I was also ramping up in strength more often. Eventually it appeared to me that so many full strength smokes may have "burned out" my taste buds.

just seemed that I could no longer appreciate a nice south-of-med/full smoke. Fortunately as I was thinning my inventory and debating whether to quit, I cut way back and focused more on my Cubans and a few other good cigars in that general strength zone.

I continued to shred my stock, actually got to zero maybe a year, year and a half ago, and between very limited purchasing and a few raoks was close to 80 or so. Currently around 50 and a chunk of that was cuz clickbangdead sent triple what he should have after I relented and let him "even us up".

so I can now enjoy mild/med up to med/full but do not enjoy real full at all. Though I can enjoy them again, I know I'm still missing stuff I used to taste. For example, X000 Padron maddies aren't what they used to be for me, and I used to think if I could only have one make cigar for the rest of my life it would be them. Now, meh, OK but no longer wonderful. Don't know where the mocha/coffee went.

That's my theory of what happened.

Same thing happened to me, Frank... back in 2006 before I deployed. I thought deloyment would cure me if I didn't smoke any, so I pretty much abstained while I was there but for a few.

Still can't detect the nuances any more and I barely smoke if I ain't fishing.

And I still like the Padron maddies...

Currently just shy of 400, off a high of over 1,000. I’ve spent 2 years smoking my way through stuff that is fine, but not stuff I’d buy more of. In the last 4 years, since expanding past the few brands I’d buy from my B&M thanks to CBid and other places, I’ve narrowed down to what I really enjoy. Based on current consumption rates, I’ll start buying again in February/March 2020. Assuming the next house has space for my cabinet, I intend to hit the 3000 mark and stay there. That’s the plan at least. That way, I’ve got about 10 years worth on hand.

Probably around 2,000. I got pretty low last year; just a 28-bottle fridgerdor and a 100 ct desktop. Since about December of last year, I brought the other fridgerdor out of retirement, filled another 100 ct desktop, and broke out the 48 qt cooler. I also moved into a TINY apartment, so I'm actually thinking about getting a cabinet.

A four season ventilated smoke room sounds awesome, actually could use one myself, have to start working on the wife for one myself.
