I'm hoping that CI was able to score some El Capitan Reserva Maduros ...

This one is truly a Don douglas masterpiece, and it received a 4.7 rating in Smoke Magazine ... the highest rating ever given to a cigar in that magazine!

The Peg Legs are a 'slightly' different blend from the Reserva Maduro ...

The Reserva Maduro is a blend of fine Dominican and Spicy Nicaraguan 'Ligero' filler, Nicaraguan binder and a Costa Rica Maduro wrapper.

The Peg Leg has the Costa Rica Maduro wrapper, with the Dominican and Nicaragua (not sure if it's ligero) filler ... but, it has a Dominican binder (instead of Nicaragua).

The 'Peg Leg' kind of reminds me of another very fine cigar ... the Estavan Cruz 'Short Cruz'.

Although the 'Short Cruz' is shorter and fatter than the 'Peg Leg', and is a totally different blend of leaves (Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, an Ecuadorian Sumatran seed binder, and a Dominican, Nicaraguan and Brazilian filler) ... Cigar Insider (published by Cigar Aficionado), September 2000 issue gives the Estavan Cruz, Short Cruz a 90 rating ...

I don't believe the 'Peg Leg' has been rated yet, as it was just added in 2002, but I could be mistaken ...

BTW ... The Estavan Cruz Corona Gigante received a 4.5 rating in the winter 2000/2001 issue of Smoke Magazine, which makes it the runner up to the cigar that got the higest rating ever!

Do you know when they will be available at the CI site?

I would like to try one of these but with all this talk the price is already too high on Cigarbid:
http://www.cigarbid.com/auction/lot.cfm?lotID=83766
http://www.cigarbid.com/auction/lot.cfm?lotID=83769
I feel like I am watching hype associated with an dot.com stock (lots of talk = high prices). I quess I'll will wait until the buzz wears off.

donutboy2000 --- that's totaly up to CI, and to answer your question, no ... I'm not privy to that information.

I don't know how much inventory CI was able to aquire from Bucnaero (most likely somewhat limited) ... and chances are, they may not be offered at Cigars International, at least at the present time ...

Keith (from CI) would be the one to direct that question to ...

GTofMurphy --- not to come of smug, or anything like that, but 'you snooze - you loose' comes to mind ...

If interested, read my reply to the thread at 'Picture Post' when someone there had 'similar' thoughts as you ... it's titled, 'Another Bucanero standing on its ash ...'

If you've already seen it, and still feel the same ... that's fine. I just hope that you are able to score some ... and you will see what all the hype is about.

Good luck to you!

The Full Sail is one fantastic cigar and I will most definitely keep this one in my rotation, but unfortunately, they will be overbid here on CBID as the other Bucanero varieties put on bid so far. Do your research before bidding...

jd1 --- I'm a litle confused by your statement. Please feel free to set me straight if I am incorrect ...

There have only been two varities put up for auction at CB so far (and still active) ... and I haven't seen any overbiddng on them ... yet, although I'm sure it will happen before the weekend is over.

So far ... the bidding on both lots is under the lowest online source I was able to find.

I was only able to locate one online source for the Peg Leg (and they also have Full Sail) ... and they have a sale going on too!

The Clasico Maduro Churchill is 'on sale' for $7.07 each, and normally sell there for $8.85 each (bought by the box of 20) ...

The Peg Leg is on sale for $88.40 (for the box of 14), and normally retails for $102.00 ...

Did I miss something?

I found the same information as Slimboli. Perhaps these folks are talking about what they wish they cost.

Slim, you are entirely correct, I should've said "may be overbid" instead of "will."

Just cautioning for others to research first. It will be interesting to see what CI lists them for.

I've already ordered a box of the Full Sail. Without mentioning the site; you clue as to price ($88.40) leads me to believe we are speaking of the same site--yes, definitely the lowest I've found too.

Didn't want to confuse anyone or jump to any conclusions...the bidding thus far would come to just about the price I can get them that's all. But you never know, that's why I just know my cut-off point and keep trying. Cigars from CBID account for 95% of my stash--And if I can find someplace to hide more Rubbermaidadors, it will be more!!!

life's too short to get offended at every little thing...just don't step on my blue suede shoes...

By the way, the Bucanero line are dog rockets, so DON'T ANYONE BID ON THESE!!!...if you have, then please send them to me and I'll dispose of them for you...I'll even refund your shipping for every box you send me...
