Firefighting goes beyond the triangle and putting water on it. Different classes of fires, different means of extinguishing, different reactions to different extinguishing agents, etc. I've merely got a basic working knowledge of it, as all sailors on a naval ship must have. Especially those working in engineering.
Obviously a lot more to it than heat-fuel-oxygen. But if you remove one of the three... the fire goes out.
