Are canadians coming across in the millions? Do they make up 65% of the prison population in any of the states they immigrate to? Apples and oranges, my friend.
The southern border is a problem that has been ignored, like you say, by everyone before Trump. He said he'd address it. Enough Americans wanted it done (and hated Hillary) and elected him. He addressed it, and Herr Fuhrer's puppet masters are undoing it.

But don't you think lots of brown people from all over can get into friendly Canada easily and then slip into the US? Don't you think it happens daily?

It was a marketing plan to garner votes. Even worked once...once.
You can spend your time and money catching and jailing street level dealers in the inner city as they've done for decades while better off suburban kids (like me) got threatened with a call to parents (this explains why the population you always saw was heavily ethnic).

Do you think for one second there isn't plenty of illegal stuff crossing the snowy borders? Or coming in from the ocean sides? Or flying over that friggin' wall?

I see it as Trump garnering votes when he addressed testosterone induced anger and directed it in a way that didn't change our safety from anything, but did make lettuce more expensive.
Cutting off aid to the countries that populate the "caravans" of hopefuls headed our way made things more difficult at home for them. That was his role in today's issue. Biden also has his own role.
Too easy to write so many off as druggies, whores, rapists, and other forms of scum. But identifying them as that sure stokes some emotion in the gut.
I can't imagine what I would do in their situation, can you?
I mean, three of my grandparents knew what to do. Am I as amazing as them?
