Hundreds of cities and large corporations went ahead with their process of adopting alternate energy sources even as the Trump administration and others opposed Kyoto and Paris. Companies like Microsoft, Apple etc are already on the road to 100% clean sources between now and by 2030. The US uses about 6% less energy as of 2019 than it did in 2007. This will continue but according to most of the science even if we were to stop using all fossil fuels today the earth will continue to heat up for generations because 93% of that heat is already in the oceans.

IIRC I have read that the earth has hundreds of years of coal reserves and most countries that have oil and gas reserves haven't even started using fracking yet which is why we are now the #1 producer. We are reducing our coal burning power rapidly but other countries like China and India are bringing new plants on-line at a high rate even though they are also outspending us on renewables.

Won't even get started on the population increases and rapid move of millions/billions of very low income countries who want to move into the middle class in the next generation and all the energy they will consume.

Almost every car manufacturer is committed to moving to electrics in the next 10-20 years. Some of the largest have said they will not produce gas cars much after 2030. Nothing today has the energy cost of fossil fuels but that will continue to change but not nearly fast enough. We need nuclear bad.

Major issues have not been addressed yet for many/most industries.
