Tired of it. The focus on athletes that are quitting. Hows about we focus on the ones that DON'T quit?

That's what I am focusing on right now. Watching big swimming races tonight.
We can sort the rest out later.

The correct title should be Frank the Olympics.

See posts 24-26. Trying to establish C-bid nomenclature without special characters. Although... I think I'm special and a character. My therapist told me so.

I’m no expert in the metric system but I’m pretty sure the Filipina lift 3/4 of a DrafterX including back and neck hair.

The good old days when amateur American hockey players beat the Russkies. Haven't paid much attention since.

This. I can't remember when it was only amateurs. But they are some of the best athletes in the world.

I somewhat disagree.
Watching an NBA allstar team beat up on lesser teams across the globe is boring.

The most memorable olympic moment in my lifetime was 1980's hockey. There is no way to manufacture that kind of national emotion with overpaid athletes, even if they are the "best" at what they do.

Sure, some sports have a blurred line between pro and amateur. Skaters or gymnasts making advertising dollars shouldn't preclude them from being a multiple-time olympic champion.
But Kevin Durant's $40 million annual salary and his smug teammates shouldn't be representative of what America has to offer.

Full disclosure: The first USA basketball "dream team" was fun. But it should have been a one-and-done.
