This movement to shame people based upon the color of their skin, and furthermore the actions of people eons ago is nothing short of misplaced anger brought on by one's own personal failure to succeed and thus looking to point the finger in an attempt to make an excuse for that failure. I have listened to the stories told by successful black people, successful Mexican people and so on and they have a common thread-never give up, work hard and overcome. The assertion that white people have privilege in today's society is as out of date as Jim Crow laws. There was a time not too long ago this was a fact , but our society has largely moved beyond that. When I hear people still claiming privilege across the board for a particular race I have to shake my head and wonder why they hadn't paid attention to historical facts. Is there racism and privilege here in America? Of course there is, but it is not singular. Racism exists and it comes from every culture/race towards other races and it will always be there. As far as privilege goes...it is no longer a white thing, it is a money thing now. If you are blue and have a lot of $ then you get the preferred table without waiting.
