Good points. I’ve reached back to them if they would be okay with me to be less opaque on where the ask is coming from. It is additionally awkward because this person would rather be completely anonymous for reasons I understand, but they have played a role on the CigarBid boards for a not insignificant period of time.

Will see where it goes from here.

Yesterday, I got a text with a request for a favor. Someone they know is in their mid-40s, has ALS and about the only thing which still gives with person joy is cigars. The suggested route would be for the person who reached out to the ALS person, find out their cigar preferences, share those preferences with me, and asked if I might be able to round up some smoke donations. The would provide the ALS person's address making it easy for anyone to donate directly to them.

My wife's suggested course is to not be a part of it.
