#3 - Bolivar Cofradia - not awful, but not good either. I have found some less expensive smokes that I enjoy, so I took a chance on a $10 5pack. These will not be in my rotation, but maybe someone else will enjoy them.

#4 - Diesel Whiskey Row romusto from stinger88. This was on one of my PIB Want lists, and stinger accommodated me with this and a maduro that I haven't smoked yet. Thank you stinger. I liked it, and I can see this working its way into my rotation when I get more space.

It had delicious creamy/bready notes throughout the second third. That profile really comes through in several of AJ's cigars, and I love it. But I've noticed that to get it, I have to take smaller puffs and smoke more slowly than I normally would, and I'm normally pretty slow anyway.

enforce the buying hiatus that I've resolved to do the past few years...

luckily, (sadly?) I bought some stuff just before the New Year...

spent some time shoehorning them into existing storage space by combining stuff from half full and less filled boxes, turning some boxes sideways, taking some cigars out of boxes and putting some into loose cigar storage containers and cramming other ones into tabletop humidors...

I'm screwed as I've got a couple more things en route...may have to smoke five a day for the next week to make room...

2023-2025 goal: don't buy anymore cigars...

#5 - Opus X Lost City torpedo I bought last spring that has been sitting in the desktop.

I can see how other people might appreciate it more, certainly not a bad cigar, but it left me wanting. I find Fuente stuff to be bland, overpriced, and overrated. Back in the 2000s when I was smoking cigars the first time, Fuente was just another brand as far as I remember. They were not overpriced or overrated, but even back then I found them bland. With potential. They always reminded me of that girl in high school who would let you get to third base, but never home. I always thought that if they would turn up the volume on their cigars just a little, they might click with me.

With this one, I tried to forget what I usually think about Fuentes, and that it cost $33, and approached it like the $10-$15 EZ, LCA, Tat, etc., that I sometimes smoke. On that metric, it was OK but didn't wow me. There are a lot of other $10 cigars I would rather have.

Sometimes I think I am too proletariat. But, I keep trying.

#6 - Tabacalera Chalet Las Palomitas from Privada

This was one of those new age "not your father's connie" connies. Pretty good. Absolutely beautiful wrapper that reminded me of coffee with lots of cream. I think I dig this new style Connecticut stuff.

#7 - LCA Delectados. This was was released last summer. I remember DG not liking it, and I waited to try it, but I thought it was pretty good. I'm not sure what Dan found objectionable. The profile seemed a little "typical" to me, non-distinctive, but many of the cigars I smoke seem to have profiles that are similar.

#8 - Black Works Studio NBK from Stogie. It was good. I thought it seemed a little light, was worried it was underfilled and the draw would suffer, but it wasn't and didn't.
#9 - E.P. Carrillo Capa de Sol romusto
#10 - Black Bird x Penelope Barrel Aged Minnesota Fats. This was aged, as an already rolled cigar, in freshly used bourbon barrels for 3 months. It imparted a sharp bourbon aroma, like a legit infused cigar, so I didn't want to store it with my other stuff, smoked it ROTT. It was good. I found the heavy aroma added a little flavor to it, like a light infusion, but not in an obnoxious way. I recommend it as a change of pace and worth trying.

#11 - Tatuaje Series P toro. I thought this was something new because I had never seen them before, either at my shpo or on Cbid, but I read that they have been around for a while. I saw some on Cbid and bought a few in my last order. Seems they are essentially a mixed filler brown label. I can dig it. Glad I bought them.

#12 - Ave Maria Dark Knight romusto from Marcus. I keep losing bids on these because I have weak character. I put them on one of my PIB lists, and Marcus kindly accommodated me. I liked it. It was pretty strong, in terms of body, definitely full flavor.

#13 - Viaje Piña romusto from Stogie. I really liked this too. It seems I like the SA wrappers quite a bit.

Good cigar times gifted by generous BOTL.

EDIT: I hate the word "gifted," but I used it anyway. That's not a verb. The verb is given. "Gifted" doesn't even save syllables. It's an abomination.
