OK, maybe not the day you get them, but after a few weeks acclimation.

What are some non-elite smokes you find are as good as they get without felling like you need to wait? IOW, they don't seem to benefit from a year in the box so you're happy to smoke 'em essentially ROTT. Last qualifier would be that you might actually buy them from time to time.

I have yet to find a cigar that wasn’t better at 3 months, than it was at 3 weeks.
That said, most any Connecticut, imo, doesn’t get much better after a year or so.
I like Papas Fritas pretty much ROTT, but haven’t really rested any of them long enough to determine if they are much better at 12 months, than they are at 3 weeks.

Any RP 1990 or 1992. After all he claims the tobacco was forgotten in a warehouse for like 8 years before he found it.

Good Q. I'm interested in others answers.
For me besides connecticuts the Oliva O and G seem better before aging.

Following this too. King, your saying the Connecticuts don’t actually improve with time? That’s good to know. Is that generally speaking or a specific brand?

1. They’re chitty sellers

2. RP puts in the tiniest amount of the tobacco, ala the Camacho Pre-Embargo gimmick, to qualify as cigars made from 1990 and 1992 years.

^ Yeah, I remember when these came out. It was probably 2006(ish). I had some of the OR. May still have one or two. So, around 17 years worth of cigars. HUGE warehouse.

My brother in law buys and smokes RP The Edge Toro Maduro a box a week from a local shop and leaves them in his truck. I started talking about aging cigars and he laughed and said his oldest cigars are 7 days old 🇨🇮

Someone somewhere said the Virtue………wasn’t impressed at all…….but that was a long time ago.

I remember I accidentally “aged” a MF connie a couple years and smoked it a while back……….it didn’t blow me away as far as being that much better than one with a couple months on it.
