Harbor Freight Bauer modular tool box

I have a few of these I use for tool storage and some of my music gear. They work great for that.

They have a seal on the lid so i bought one and filled it with old cigar boxes and boveda packs. 2 weeks in and it's holding humidity great. I'm going to fill it with cigars today.

For the price I figured I couldn't go wrong.

I’m assuming no plastic odor issues, since you didn’t mention it?
Do they stack nicely, as in “nested” in place?

Will you get a resin flavor added to the smokes?

Tele said he wiped it with alcohol and left open for two days.
As I think about it more, my inclination would be to close it for 7 days, then open it and check for odor, before calling it good to go and stuff it with my precious cigars.

Set a ceramic plate in the bottom and place a hockey puck on it. Light the puck on fire using a bit of diesel if necessary. Close the lid after the puck has burned for 10 minutes. Don’t open for at least 24 hours. This will give you all the resin flavor you could ever desire.

The others that I've had a while don't have any smell.
It did when new but after a wipe down and leaving it open for 2 days seems to be good

Like they say, things go better with alcohol.

I bought a cooler for my cigars several years ago, and it stank to high heaven, just a terrible chemical smell. After reading on the interweb and trying different stuff, the things that I thought worked best were (a) coffee grounds left in it with the lid down, and (b) some slightly crumpled newspaper. Seems the porousness of these two absorb the odor molecules.

About 10 t0 15 years ago one of my big wood humidors developed an awful smell. A brother told me to empty it and clean it with 90% alcohol. It worked. Musta been all those Gurkhas.
