This is likely pretty naive, and obvious, but I'm wondering how so many folks are smoking Cubans. Arent they illegal to sell or import into the States? Where you all getting them?
Now, Im not looking for secrets here, and dont want to get anyone in any trouble, so general info, just enough to satisfy my curiosity, is just fine.
Ive had a few Cubans while abroad, and am pretty sure some were real, and some were fake, but I enjoyed the hell out of them...

Basically, there are websites out there that are less than concerned about certain laws. Reprehensible, incorrigible websites that you should never ever ever visit nor patronize, not that any of the Koobans have been affordable since the plague anyway........ I heard from a friend

And, from what I’ve read on the Innernets (…which means it must be true…), once people figure out what sites can be 100% trusted, people spread the word so the availability avenue gets wider.

I quit buying ISOMs because they plain out just got TOO expensive.
The PSD4s and Boli RCs that USED to cost $7-$8 a few years ago are now $23-$29 !

I've ordered a bunch from some solid on-line sources from respectable places over the years. Got the slap on the wrist letter from customs a couple of times and the supplier resent them again with no issues.

Prices for Cuban cigars have gone through the roof over the years so I haven't bought any Cubans for a handful of years.

In my tastes and opinion, there are plenty of non Cuban cigars available that are more affordable without the extra hassle.

here's a link to some info about authentic and fake online vendors of Cuban cigars as judged by Cigar Analysis, a group that emerged about 4 years ago. Caveat: a lot can happen in 4 years, and the explosion of Cuban cigar prices has incentivized increased production of fakes.

https://cigaranalysis.com/authentic-cigar-shops/

How trustworthy? small sample size, 2 purchases I'd made from authentic sites, recommended by friends, and as ruled by Cigar Analysis, seemed righteous. One purchase from a place labeled fake did seem suspect, due to much lower price and side-by-side taste test of a known and trusted example...

I dont buy Cubans anymore.

5 years ago they were priced competitively with new world cigars. They brought a unique profile and many if not most were in the $5-10 sweet spot.

IMO they don't bring enough to thr table for the asking price today.

Pretty sure cocaine and hookers are illegal too….yet I cut/chop them all three up before I use them up.

I got one in my trunk right now I call Cohiba, on account she’s too ugly to call Juliet .

Don't you want to use up the cookers before you chop them up?

Actually, never mind. I don't think I want to know

I laughed my azz off at some of these responses (ZRX you need help...). Thanks very much. I'm gonna go on being a law abiding citizen and not patronize any of those sites and not pay those prices.
Happy Holidays to you all.

https://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/

used to be a great source of info, but I have no idea if it's been updated over the years since I used it.
learned a lot, especially when tons of fakes were available and could easily be spotted by the bands alone.

tbh, buying Cuban cigars hasn't seemed to be risky given all the guys here who've owned up to trouble-free purchases...only one, that I know of, has received the so-called "letter"...

it's like everybody says they're wary of an IRS audit, but will still include some fudge in their annual return...
