We're expecting a heat wave tomorrow of 9 degrees! I must admit I do slow down in the winter...can't linger over a cigar when I'm losing feeling in my extremeties. I have the option of smoking in my home, but choose not to. There's nothing like sitting outside...contemplating nature, reflecting on the day, a good cigar and a little cognac...but one must be able to adapt...so I sit in my garage...with space heater...contemplate the junk I really should throw out...puff on a nondescript cigar...and pretend my hot cider is really a snifter of Cardinal Mendosa!

Been colder than S$#t here in S.E. Michigan for the last two weeks... 5-10 degs @ night, 15-20 for highs in the day..

I have a smoke almost nightly lying up against my fireplace hearth with either a hardwood fire or a "Duraflame" log burning. I keep the stogie near the fireplace and exhale or "puff" the smoke up the flue. 99% of the smoke smell goes up the chimney..

No complaints from my 12 year old daughter.. got rid of the wife years ago! he,he

Tonight it will be -10F in DePere, Wisconsin....-35F windchill....i will not be smoking. But I will be at the cigar club on Saturday, for good conversation, and a good smoke.

Hey Cayman2b, I hear you! I do the exact same thing!! Sit by the fireplace and smoke. The pull of air is so good, when I exhale it automatically goes right up the old chimney!! Hey, I keep warm and get to enjoy a cigar without hearing the BS!!

Charlie, are you serious? "when it gets really cold in Southern California! It is not that cold that often, but it can get in the 40's and 50's here!" Whoa!! really? All the way down to the 40's & 50's huh? LOL!

Right now here in NY it's -15 with the wind chill!! 40's-50's would be considered balmy here right now!!

Thankfully, it never gets cold here in So. Cal. so I rarely find my smoking time inconvenienced. Of course, sometimes I have to wear a jacket...

I may slow down just a little but I have a heated shop and an outdoor fireplace that I LOVE. Build a fire and let it snow!

Sonny, listen to Canyon. He's got the right idea. Set something on fire and sit next to it. Logs, garbage, neighbors dog, whatever.

I guess not too many New Yorkers out there...here in Upstate NY, it's -2 (without the windchill).
Just keeping warm in the Basement with a small portable heater, cup of tea, some soft tunes, and an ISOM Diplomatico...just waiting for the warmer weather till I can use my porch or deck again.
