I stand corrected and thank you for pointing out that the site I listed does have Items for sale on it.. and also there is a registration fee to sign up as a member on that site... but there is also the free literature on that site as what I had posted links to in my first post on this Tread... that was what I was refering to and not trying to miss lead some members who may be Interested in Reading up on these issues as I had posted this Tread to be in the First Place (For Bible Enthsiasts Here) not Agnostics nor Athiests to thread jack and create havoc as most do when they see something that doesn't fit there agenda... so if you would not mind Start your own tread on what you think people should respond to this tread I started for those who do care.... and Thanks Again!!!!

you will notice that in spite of the fact that i do not accept any religion or any belief in any kind of god, however it is defined, i have not posted anything.

i am not an agnostic because what an agnostic is really saying is prove it to me. the agnostic wants to belive in a god and a life after death, but cannot make the leap of faith.

i, personally, am simply not interested in religion or god, except as an interesting subject to debate because i do not know many people that have the same lack of interest in the subject,as i do, and i can always get a good discussion/argument going bringing up the subject.

you started this thread talking about your personal beliefs and ended with "I wont go into confrontations with you on a forum." you opened the door to confrontation when you posted your original post. you know everyone here on these boards are always in some sort of discussion, pro and con, about everything, sometimes with humor, sometimes with scorn. why would you think anyone would feel the need to respect your beliefs if they are not their own.

i am more interested in busting everyone's chops about bush and don't want to get into fussing about religion.

Not too sure how I am jacking this thread. Appears to me that my comments are in line with the subject IE; biblecodedigest.com. Last I checked, this is a public forum open for discourse on any subject within the rules stated by Cigarbid. If you didn't want comments on the subject, perhaps you should have made the header something like,
"for the bible enthusiast here, please post no comments unless you agree compleatly with all of the views of usahog."
RICKMAVEN will make various statements and surprisingly he doesn't forbid others from participating on his threads. Nor do you yourself refrain from commenting on them even though its pretty clear that your views don't exactly match up with his.

Rick.. I respect your Beliefs and also your post here... I know and have known for along time you post to get peoples minds going and even at times their blood pumping... it keeps this forum alive... there have been many times you have done this with mine personally... but its all in vain I know I have yours also... I have even considered sending you out a care package because I felt sometimes I had demeinored your spirits so bad in some discussions it would be the least I could do... Being interested in currant events IE; our impending war with Saddam, not to mention knowing what others are thinking (yourself and other christians included), I checked out the link.
Not counting yourself, I was the 10th person to comment on it and I did so on it's content which includes "End of Days" subject matter. It also isn't shy about selling more of the same. My comment reflected that.
As I stated earlier, if you didn't want a discussion of the subject matter presented on that site, it should of had some warning on it that it was'nt for anyone other then those who enjoy crackpot theorise. Oh, but how could you know that I don't enjoy such things until we have a discourse on the subject? Kind of a catch 22 huh?

What I'm interested in is open, lively and intelligent debate on any number of subjects that might show up on this forum. My intent is not to "add a negative" as you say but to offer differing viewpoints. I'm sorry if those viewpoints offend you. That is a drawback to free speach. Sometimes it can make others uncomfortable.

Who knows, If we sat down on my deck and smoked and shot the breeze and watched the coyotes tear into the neighbors yap dogs, we may find that we have more in common then it appears on the surface.

Version that you speak of is Scriptures and may very well have been changed throughout history is not a fact but only your opinion show me facts...

Let me start by saying that I am not here to knock your beliefs. I sincerly hope that they offer you guidance, strength and solace when you need them. What I take from the bible is something differant and more of a non-literal view. I have found much good in it myself. (Surprise, I have indeed read it.) I very much believe in such things as in "do unto others...." "let he who is without sin.....". But I still believe that the bible has been changed over the years and that there is much evidence to substantiate that fact. With all that said, I would hope that you read the following with an open mind. not for you to change yours but to hopefully help you understand my perspective a little more.

You ask me to offer proof that the bible has not been changed.

As exhibit "A", I offer the fact that none of the versions I have seen are writtin in ancient sumarian, or greek etc. What early versions out there are bits and pieces from various early translations of multiple books.. This is why there are so many scholars out there debating every aspect of the book trying to piece it together (not so much to decifer it's meaning.)

Now compare that one with the original version.) Now imagine that happening with the bible, a very complicated set of books indeed.
Exhibit "C", There is presently 7 differant versions in general use today for english speakers alone. No telling how many actual versions there are in the rest of the world.
Exhibit "D", The early history of most of the books in the bible was handed down orally and were not written down for several hundred years. (One of the reasons we dont's know the exact date of Christ birth.)
Exhibit "E", One it was writtin down, the only ones with access to it were members of the clergy and Kings. All information that the illiterate masses got about the bible was through those condiutes. Don't think for a momment that those in charge were not corruptable.

All of these reasons and more are why I do not take a literal approach to the bible.
