Hi
I am a conservative/libertarian. Frankly I would hope that Jack would be more tasteful in what he decides to post. I am a champion of free speech. He can say what he thinks. Hopefully everyone takes Jack without too much seriousness.
But frankly this post gives me pause for thought. I am about to be married to a wonderful Jamaican lady, conservative, well spoken, and educated. If a man lets say a conservative version of Obama just as educated, cultured, and well spoken were to come to Jack's door to ask to be with his daughter, would Jack say no? What if the gentleman were white? Your pun reminds me of the fears of the Jim Crow days? Today I believe the black community has much bigger troubles than the likes of your prejudice. I follow with Sowell thoughts on the one side and Cosby's crusades on the other.
Jack what purpose does this serve? You help liberal minded people to bolster there own prejudices concerning politics and race as Rome burns. Who are you helping?

Q

PS Born in the South with some sense, the old pattern of yesterdays is best left behind.

Hi
Well Jack perhaps we are wrong. I am not in love with the politically correct world we live in today. Frankly we are becoming to sensitive a culture. A tasteless joke (no one ever accused Mel Brooks of having taste) should not condemn you but perhaps give one pause for thought. Believe it or not what passes for tolerance these days I cannot stomach. In fact it blinds many on both sides of the race issue. For example there are many in the African American community and beyond who believe the problems in such communities are largely due to bigotry. When young people call ladies hoes and bitches, think education is a white thing, glorify Nelly and others like him, etc. , there is a problem.
Frankly I am concerned, as my future children will be of mixed race. I do not want them to be fond of much in present day culture. Nor do I want them to be swayed by our pop culture stupidity. I would like to give them a sense of independence to look beyond race and the expedient into their own humanity and faith. Perhaps to strive to correct the serious flaws that exists in our culture, but with mind and heart in careful balance. I would like them to embrace Fredrick Douglas and John Adams, to love Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov and Miles Davis, to read Dickens and Wright etc. . To realize they are more than just Jamaican/European/American but people and capable of great things to fulfill their dreams.

Q.

I too appreciate Jack not hiding his colors. Although slurs and innuendo are not entirely forthcoming.

There is a very big difference between Jacks attitude and the attitude that blacks have, which is this;....

Blacks have ample reason to feel and act in the manner you describe. Most blacks his age remember vividly how they had the rights given to a dog. Even today, they are constantly reminded of their perceived inferiority. Just look on this board alone, there are plenty of posts (albeit mostly by Jack) that would quickly remind a black person that they are still considered subhuman, or simply put; NEGRO

White people don't know what that feels like, not remotely. Never is their color a cause for shame, disgrace and disparity.

Jack on the other hand is the beneficiary of the toll extracted from the Negros. To add to the problem, he uses that very toll to feel superior and confident enough to be condescending.

You need to lighten up and set aside your ACLU banners for a while...everyone who laughs at this is not a KKK member nor or they racists...!

There is more racisim in the average black stand up comic routine than in any of this....

pmn1 do you even know what a racist is?

Ever watch In Living Color? .....by your apparent definition of racist, that was one of the most racist programs in history!?

I see far too many people yelling racist without even knowing what it really means.
